Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

Well, I had a "courtesy call" from the Co-op to check that everything was OK and I was happy with my new account. A bit premature, being as the switching process hasn't got past first base yet. Being used to Lloyds, I was expecting him to try to sell me something, but he didn't. So no idea what it was all about."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

Re - the online account. Does anyone else like me keep using the back button only to log oneself out? I cannot get used to not using it.
I also want to amend one of the standing orders but no dates are showing on there yet, and only 2 out of 3 have been transferred at the moment.
I'm cancelling one of my vantage accounts with lloyds and have 2 standing orders of £10 to each of the other 2, but only one has been transferred over. It's not a problem to me, but rules say all standing orders have to be transferred. Probably Lloyds fault, and the co-op don't know about the third SO as the letter they sent me said all SO now set up. I don't want to delay the start date
Also I asked for a free overdraft of £250 and was given £1000 - perhaps I should use it for the first 3 months and then put my account back into credit, or is that expecting too much!! £800 in and £1800 out! lolNot Rachmaninov

I had a letter stating that all SO/DD have been set up and all payments should be transferred by 17/11 as they have contacted the DD companies to do so (I only have standing orders) and to make my first £800 payment after that.
Letter also says I will get the £200 if the 3 payments are madeNot Rachmaninov

Similar here, I see my SOs are in Co-op, but the listing has no dates, only "Monthly" and clicking on them shows completely empty form. Co-op advisors say the first payment is due on the 1st December, but luckily Barclays already made the payment this Monday as the details had not been deleted yet. I've told them its supposed to be on the 6th of each month and they've apparently changed it but I can still only see "Monthly" on the SO page.
Suppose I'm lucky I didn't get the two SO both going out at the same time. That would have been fun!
Unfortunately you are not able to see on-line in the Standing Orders page the day of the month when a standing order goes out (other than by looking back on actual payments). 'Clicking' on the SO is editing it - i.e when you want to change amount/date.
A bit crap really but to be honest, considering the Co-op on line system dates back to the launch of smile in 1999, it still pretty much does what it says on the tin, albiet in a no frills manner.Ethical moneysaver0 -
My first Direct Debit has bounced from co-op. Mobile phone which gets put onto my credit report... fantastic.
It shows on 'date claimed' and appeared on my account section yesterday. However this morning it vanished. I spoke to my mobile provider (three) and they said they tried to take the DD but it failed.
They told me to speak to my bank. Co-Op informed me the reason it failed is because my account isn't live yet, and goes live on the 17th. They told me they told all direct debit companies this when they gave them my new details, so three are at fault for taking it from my new bank when they should have taken it from my old bank.
Doesn't help me though, really worried it'll impact me for 6 years now, as I've worked really hard to build up a decent history after having no history previously being a student etc.
Three said they'll try and take it again in a week, which is the 16th, so it'll bounce AGAIN if Co-Ops logic is true, given my account live date is the 17th. I've just paid it off on my debit card in the hope that it won't go as a missed/late payment on my credit report, but they'll still try and take it again in a week.
The stress this morning so far isn't worth £200.....
Awaiting a call back from Three as I wanted to speak to the same person I spoke to earlier. Ho hum.0 -

Why don'y you use your debit card and pay over the phone? that way you can avoid the late payment marker on your credit file;)
Opps just read the last bit of your post.0 -
Was due yesterday...0

I've just spoken to Three, "As a valued three customer we realise the importance of your credit rating and since this is only 1 day late we will not report anything negative"... I've asked for this in writing which they are duly doing.
Still not confident though as I reckon it will be automatic
