Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

Got a strange letter from the Switching Team, asking me to phone to clarify some details. Turns out they haven't got any details, clear or otherwise, because they haven't got my DD list from Santander yet.
Now there's a surprise - same for me with my Cahoot account.
I suspect Santander may be losing quite a few customers to the Coop; for me its a case of going back to the Coop following years of declining service from Cahoot.0 -
This offer is no longer available. (No longer on website and confirmed via phone)0

To those who expressed their dismay at how the online banking is dealt with please have a read of this.
I sent the following email yesterday expressing concern in relation to the security & look of the online banking and also whether there was going to be any sort of mobile app (iPhone/iPad in particular) planned for the future, see below:
Hi,
I am just making a couple of enquiries in relation to the above subjects.
I have heard a rumour that your online banking is due for an overhaul in the future and was wondering if anyone can confirm this as it is currently very basic and also I am slightly uncomfortable knowing that employees are able to know my pin/security questions to my online banking.
Also, I am in the process of switching my account from Natwest to you and was wondering if you knew whether there has been any consideration of creating an iPhone/iPad app? The Natwest app works very well and is something I would love to see done with you as it does work very well and is very useful while out and about.
Thank you for taking the time to read my questions.
Kind Regards,
Andrew
Today, I received the following email:
Hello
Thanks for your email.
We're currently reviewing every area of the personal online banking service as we look to overhaul the system over the next 12 months. We are also currently in the process of developing an application for mobile banking however we don't yet have a date for its completion. You'll be informed about this closer to the time.
Thanks

Yesterday, I had my first direct debit (mortgage) taken from my new Co-op account. It appeared in the recent transactions and was correctly paid to HSBC mortgage. Today another 2 were taken, but worryingly, yesterday's transaction disappeared from the list of recent transactions and nowhere to be seen! Not very impressed so far....0

Similar incident here :wall:
I have a mortgage payment of £600.00 that used leave my Santander a/c religiously on the 2nd of each month. I checked yesterday and no payment had been made (either from Santander or the CO-OP) so I called the CO-OP switching dept (that was a right PIA as someone had left the phone off the hook!) when I eventually got through they said the first payment wasn't due until the 1st of December! I then checked with Santander and they said the S/O had been cancelled!
Really feel like I'm starting to earn this £200.00 now :rotfl:0 -
Similar here, I see my SOs are in Co-op, but the listing has no dates, only "Monthly" and clicking on them shows completely empty form. Co-op advisors say the first payment is due on the 1st December, but luckily Barclays already made the payment this Monday as the details had not been deleted yet. I've told them its supposed to be on the 6th of each month and they've apparently changed it but I can still only see "Monthly" on the SO page.
Suppose I'm lucky I didn't get the two SO both going out at the same time. That would have been fun!0 -

You'll very soon realise that a couple of spare 'donor' accounts come in useful.
I have 2 DDs set up on one of them (rarely used credit cards) and on the other I just set up a couple of dummy SOs as and when required (ie by this Co-op offer). All of which comes in very handy for offers such as HSBC (£50), NatWest (£100), Halifax (£50), Co-op (£200), Nationwide (several ranging from £50 to £75), etc, etc.
I'm having to do very little for my £200.0 -
Still waiting for my dd's to appear on my co-op account.
Received a letter from Co-Op advising Santander will not allow them to switch the DD's unless i sign and return the letter, to give them the approval to do so.
Seems like another delay, does everyone get this, or is it just because i'm transferring from Santander?0 -
Mine went through without delay, so I'd say it was Santander.0

My girlfriend and I switched our own (individual) accounts to get the £200.
However, we switched from Smile. As this is part of cooperative bank I doubt it counts as a "full switch from a different provider". My girlfriend has been sent a text saying she won't get the £200. But I've not been informed I don't qualify. I wonder if it's worth continuing to pay in the £800? My direct debits and standing orders have all moved over now so I guess I may as well stick with it!
I'd be interested to know if anyone else can shed any light?0
