I just tried to send them £800 by FP and it wouldn't work so either they or First Direct are not perfect.paulwellerfan wrote: »hey even if you guys dont get the 200 quid the co op is a great bank.

Yes, they asked on the switching form, but the last switching form I filled in stated that if you ticked the box they would send you a form to give to your bank. I didn't know if co-op was the same.0 -
I've had two texts so far from CoopBank (not exact wording):
27th Oct - Requested list of DDs and SOs from current bank
1st Nov - Received list of DDs and SOs, will confirm transfer date shortly.
Received chequebook last week but no sign of debit cards or PINs yet (slightly worrying as the initial acceptance letter says I'll get the chequebook after the debit card).0 -
We went in and opened an account yesterday. I hadn't read all of the terms for the bank account, so I didn't realise they would be charging £20 annual fee for having a small overdraft. I'll cancel that ASAP.
In the terms which the bank assistant read out to us it did say that you had to switch your main bank account. This isn't our main bank account, it's my husband's account for personal spending. I am keeping his salary because it gets paid into my halifax reward account.
She seemed a bit upset that we were switching to get the incentive, and that I kept refusing to switch my halifax account. I hope that doesn't mean they don't consider it to be our 'main' account.
Still, we'll have lost nothing, except the £20 overdraft fee!52% tight0 -
I applied for a Co-op account when the deal was on but it's now gone and they haven't yet confirmed switching my DDs over. Will I still get the £200?
I was going to switch anyway because I've had 8 years of terrible customer service from Halifax and now my student overdraft is repaid I can leave them at last  but I'd like to know.
Thank you :rotfl:0 -

We filled in an on line application on 19 Oct and received a form with application number and form to sign which we returned at the end of last week. Last week I phoned them and a lady told me that they could switch the bank account over the phone and with just an application number.
Now my DH has rung them today it being 13 days since we applied on line and has been told they can't switch account over the phone nor without a full bank code and sort code and that as the paperwork has not been completed at their end yet we still have a fortnight after they set up full account number and sort code.
Who is correct, please?0 -
