As Co-op has now switched the standing orders am i able to cancel them (the ones that now sit with the co-op or do i need to leave them up and running)
I'd say best to leave them up and running and create a new standing order on the old account to send the money to the new account.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Anyone else still waiting for a card reader? They're supposed to be sent out as soon as online banking's set up, but I'm still waiting several days later.

You can't get any money out online without it, but a little tip in case it's of use to anyone - you'll probably find you can use any other card reader you have around.

    ^^^

both mine and OH card readers arrived today. thats us all done now bar confirmation of completed switch.

p.s i have sent test payments to and from co op. transfers in arrived within 30 mins or so and transfers out did NOT require the card reader.

Mum has had a co op account for sometime and up until about 6 months ago she needed to use the reader for all transfer/transactions, now she is never asked for its use.

it seems the card reader is currently redundant for everyone.?

I'm finding (as is my wife) that a card reader's required for external payments - though the customer service people seemed to think it wouldn't be required for 28 days.

My first payment out should have gone by Faster Payments, but didn't. It went BACS so now won't get to where it needs to be until later this week.

Early experiences of the Co-op bank so far pretty poor (still waiting for PIN and card reader). I expected better, but it's unlikely that I'll be doing anything more than pocket the £200 and close the account.

I transferred £801 in and out with Lloyds this morning using fast payments.
I can't understand why it works for me and not others.

Got my card and card reader but no PIN yet, so pretty useless. Was hoping to use it for the shopping so at least it looks like the account is getting used.

Not heard a thing about the switching process though! Did it all online.

Still, applied for a SaffronBS account before co-op and received NOTHING from them yet! (apart from an email a week ago saying "You'll have your account details in the next few days". Yeah right.)

    Hi,

My partner applied on 17th Oct, received nothing until 27th Oct welcome letter dated 21st Oct. At the same day received a cheque book aswel. No sign of card or pin yet. How long is current taking for card to arrive?

Requested to switch Halifax account through Co-Op website late in the evening on friday, received confirmation email. No txt message left. How it takes for initail txt message to arrive? Did request 90 days interest free overdraft.

Did post similar message before but did not receive any replies.

still waiting for my card and pin
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Internet Banking
Today I set up internet banking over the phone which seemed a bit insecure as the person setting it up will then know all the answers to the security questions.

    DD and SO switching
I managed to log in successfully and noticed the switched SOs and DDs were already showing on the account. I then logged back in to my donor HSBC account and sure enough the SOs were now in the 'old SOs' list, just waiting for the DDs to fall off the HSBC list too.
I need to have confirmation that the switch is complete and will then begin the monthly transfer of £800.

    Overdraft
I noticed that even though I chose a £200 overdraft what actually shows in online banking is £1000, has anyone else had the same? The initial letter did say £200 though, so I am not sure which I believe. Either way it doesn't matter as having read the T&Cs in more detail their overdrafts have no interest free amount so I will probably cancel the overdraft soon.

I was told on the phone today that the 14days deadline for switching DD and SO is after the account has been opened - that is the date that they allocate an account number. Mine was allocated on Monday even though I applied almost 2 weeks ago on the Thursday.
