Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them
Comments

Well thanks guys (and gals if any are), nice to see some who view the Co-op as being good enough to stay with rather than just a "carpetbagging" tool. I sincerely hope they have achieved their aim of increasing their customer base rather than simply lining MSE'ers pockets!
The quotes should also have included Skaterboy, Peter999, gowgowuk, societies child and Captain Jmac but multiquote ditched them!
Yes Co-op bank really are very good, even despite the simplistic online banking which everyone seems to moan about. I actually work in IT for a rival bank but choose to bank with the co-op. Those of you who seem to think a flashy online banking site means a good bank... that's not always the case and the IT systems behind the scenes are often from the 60's or 70's. Just because the Co-op have a more 'basic' site doesn't mean there systems are any worse or and less secure. In any case I know Co-op are busy working on an upgrade, so I reckon it's worth sticking with them.0 -
Got mine £200 switch date 5/12

Got my £200 on 13th (gave up checking every day because I got so fed up of it not being there!)..completion date was 24/11.
I won't be sticking, mainly because I want to switch 'back' to Nationwide to get the free travel insurance, having left them a while ago due to an incident (I went overdrawn for about 2 hours after 7 years of good behaviour and they wouldn't budge on the charge). Neither of them is my main account anyway..that's with Santander (at least until the bonus rate runs out on my monthly saver)

I will stay with the Co-op too, as it's handy having a second account with a different bank I found. Their internet banking looks basic but it's really fast and does the job, although you don't seem to be able to delete a payee which is weird.
However, I still am not happy that someone out there potentially has all my sign on details - because I had to give all my sign on details to the advisor when I set up my internet banking. That advisor could sell them on in the future, when enough time has passed that it will be hard to link it back to him. That is a huge flaw in the system, in my opinion, and is a defence I would use vigorously if I ever needed to defend myself in court. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Got my £200 yesterday. Don't know my completion date but I first paid money in on 15/11/2011. Thanks Co-op!0

I hope someone from CO-OP Bank is reading this thread.
CO-OP Online banking is really awful and outdated and you have no idea what the real Account balance is.0 -
initially I was confused due to the way internet banking is set out; thought I was overdrawn.
But just saw " Credit £200 16/3/12"
Thanks OP!
My full switching date was December 6th.
Is there any easy way to switch all my direct debits/standing orders back to my original account? Or best to do it individually?0 -
