Sorry I've been away... had a very poorly computer these past few days, and before that it was work and now here I am back in the land of the living.
Freeby, you are so focused! Keep going, I think the purses plan is a good 'un.
Knitty, can I have of whatever you're on?

Ooo, welcome back! Was just getting worried about you.
Payday is what I'm on *cartwheels* paydaaaaaaayyyyyyy!! payday,payday,payday...*runs up and smooches the inside of Miggy's screen* mwah! It's payday!

Dontcha just love payday :j especially after January :j
It's February and the start of a new month to battle those debts. PADed over another 96p to the card this morning but now all my direct debits and bills have been paid my bank account should stay nice and tidy for the next two weeks until my payday. I can only forsee a couple of more PADs before then
I shall miss PADing every day.........who knew it could be so addictive.
The Carp 1 statement should pop up in my inbox tomorrow so that'll (hopefully) be the proof that I am, at last, chipping away at it. And if my speadsheet is correct I'll have got rid of it by the middle of October :j I know, I know, I shouldn't try to predict so far in advance but I like to see an end to my efforts and to know that every penny I have is working for me instead of disappearing without a trace. Plus, there's nothing better than obsessing over a spreadsheet for an hour or two
I sold something on ebay last night and am just waiting for payment :j Another £7.00 into the paypal pot.
I will have to get my unfeasibly large bottom into gear and list some more stuff either tonight or tomorrow night as I have nothing else listed at the moment  I keep forgetting
Have a great Wednesday and stay warm, where is Spring????? Doesn't it know it's February and should be peeking round the corner????Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Ooooo, your payday today? *cartwheels on Freeby's behalf*
Lovely bright spring day here today - though those brass monkeys have burgered off to a warmer climate. So I'm staying under a blanket on the sofa, just looking at the lovely bright (but v cold) day outside....oh, and getting my first NSD out of the way of course!
Have a great Wednesday yourself, Missus F.

Good Morning

Not really got that much to write in my diary at the moment but I have a quandry
I really, really, really need to get back to my healthy eating and fitness regime. This time last year I was a stone and a half lighter than I am now, running, at the gym or exercising every day and I felt wonderful, all sorta fit and healthy, enegetic and thin. I gave up my gym and weight watchers membership when I joined here to save myself £40 a month and since then everything has slid downhill  Well, mostly slid down hill onto my unfeasibly large @r$e and I feel carp
I have no energy, I am fed up with nothing fitting me and generally just fed up with myself.
Yesterday I went to the gym to find out about prices for rejoining but I said I'd have to think about it instead of signing up on the dotted line there and then.
It's still £29.50 per month for unlimited use of any gym or swimming pool in the area. And I am sorely tempted.
It's all very well, getting my finances in order and living as frugally as possible but don't I have to think about my health and well-being too???? I won't be debt free for another 5 years and if I keep going at the rate I am then I'll be one of those people that need someone to come in to wash their crevices coz I'm too fat to get out of bed
I know I could go running outside for nothing and walk and do exercise dvds at home but I don't
I've proved that by not doing it since October
I used to think, I am paying money for this, so I am blimmin' well going to get my moneys worth and it pushed me into going three or four times a week. And then eventually, I loved it and couldn't wait to go.
I don't know what to do *slight sob* I can work it into my budget but I'll be £30 less off *big snuffle* but it'll make me feel better and healthy again *wipes tears*
I know it will be my decision in the end but give me your thoughts kind people.

Hi Freeby,
Coincidentally I'm on the same train of thought as you are as I've also put on well over a stone since last year.
My personal take on this is that you deserve something for you and if it brings fitness, health and happiness then it's the perfect fit. The other thing is, when you exercise you're not just all those things but you have more energy too and with your mind in the right place MSE wise then that energy will go into more MSE things.
£29.50 for unlimited gym and swimming pool in your area is an amazing price too.
Around £1 a day on average! :j:j:j0 -

*Wipes the lippy off the monitor before DH wonders what's going on*.
Quite understandable then. :j
Well, we now have proper sunshine for the first time this week even if the garden is under permafrost. We also have decent heating again, having discovered that DS2 was turning down the best heater so it was okay for him to sit on it!
Freeby, obviously I can only give you my slant on it, but I'm inclined to say the gym membership would be worth it if you would use it, and from your past history I think you would. Being fit brings all sorts of benefits, as Muffin has said, and exercise apparently generates the same hormone that we get by eating! Wish I could remember the details on that one.
The other thing that has to have changed in the last year (I hate to say
) is calorie input. Even if you aren't eating to lose, somewhere you've slipped into eating to gain. Maybe cue for another spreadsheet with food input and calorific values? Of course without the exercise your metabolism is likely to be slower too.
Then behind this is the 'why?' You already know why you stopped gym & WW membership - money - but why did you change the sort of food you eat? Does food represent a good memory? Or something else? I have never quite got that one sorted with regard to my own food intake but I do think that understanding it is half way to overcoming it. The other half is finding ways to change... in your case you know that a support group works well, and there might be other insights you could come up with.
Anyway, whatever you decide, you can be sure of us lot on the sidelines cheering you on!Miggy

hi, this is something i've talked myself in and out of over my journey to debt freedom, and i think i've come to the conclusion that if you actually use your gym membership then you're not wasting that money and if you put it into your budget and things still balance then that's ok, you have to do what works for you. some really hardcore MSE'ers may not agree but i do think you have to do what works for you.0

Lurker alert. If you really want to go, why not challenge yourself to make the 30 quid a month, ebay, surveys, car boots etc. Then you still have the money, or by not buying that snack (double saving no extra calories) and putting the money into a pot. HTH

Hey Lucielle - That's a brilliant idea and I've already paid for month one as I am expecting a cheque any day now for completing surveys :TFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150
