    Good Morning, :)

Thank you to everyone for their wise words. I went ahead and signed up for a years memebership at the gym  and as it comes out of my account as a direct debit it won't burger up my NSDs (don't count ddebits) *watches missus knitty deflate*
To make it pay I have to visit the gym 8 times a month or twice a week which shouldn't be a problem as I used to go three or four times a week in the past. Already I feel better and I've not even been yet. I didn't wake up this morning thinking I'd made a horrible mistake so it was the right thing to do :T
I have also promised my BFF that i will be attending WW with her on Tuesday night and I also feel that is the right thing to do. I just feel content again and positive about it all.

I'll have to go out and buy myself some new trainers today though  The last ones got ruined walking the pesky dog  and I plan to make my first gym visit tomorrow morning  That'll be entertaining. I used to be able to do 5k - now I'll be lucky if I can manage 5 meters :rotfl:
Now I have something else to bore you all half to death with, you'll be fed up of hearing my gym results. :o

It's my usual spendy saturday but hopefully I can get organised for the week again and get some cash in the 'left overs purse'. There is still only £5 in there after a lapse of concentration on Thursday and I had a wander round Mr M as I am rarely near one and couldn't resist popping in when I was.

I need to get through next weekend when we are off to Disneyland and then I will be living very frugally for the rest of February.
Hopefully, I'll be so knackered from being at the gym there won't be any energy left to spend money :rotfl:

    Have a great Saturday x x

    :hello:
Thank you to everyone for their wise words. I went ahead and signed up for a years memebership at the gym
*pricks up ears* oooo, really....*rubs hands together in evil NSD glee*

    Burger. :p

Jokes aside, I think it's an excellent idea - you've done brilliantly in getting control of your life, and as a result/'prize', you get to focus on yourself a little bit. I'm not a mum, but most of my friends/family are - and mums always seem to be last in the tlc line, yet deserve it most. :A

And how fab is it that you're in a position where you can not only truly afford the gym and ww, but you've now got the experience and skills to actually reduce the cost by increasing your earnings if necessary. :T
    Have a great Saturday x x

    Good Morning :)

I had a disastrous spendy Saturday and my carefully laid out strategy went out the window. I just seemed not to care for about an hour when I was out shopping and kept whipping the debit card out instead of using my set amount of weekly cash  I totted up the damage and it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was - £40 :o but it really has brought home to me that I am not and never will be "cured". :(
I have taken comfort in the fact that I was/am aware I did it and that I have reigned myself in again and have adjusted my budgets to suit. In the past I would have just carried on. Now, I'll have to be ultra careful and make up for it any way I can.
I am very tempted to transfer my ebay/paypal cash into my bank account to offset most of the damage and start again on ebay. After all it's money that's just lying there at the moment and I have no plans for it.
I also have a very spendy weekend coming up in Disneyland  which is in my budget but is still scaring me  but I have decided to start again by taking one day at a time - I have a feeling I was getting far too cocky about this MSE stuff. :o

    Have a great Monday. x x

  • Whole point about MSE, though isn't it? It's almost a case of 'not how much you spend, but how you deal with it'...which you've got covered. *bows down in awe....struggles to get back up again*

Send one of the DDs out to work prior to Disneyland...surely there must be a chimney or two in the area....

    Hi Freeby,
£40 doesn't sound disastrous to me. It sounds more like "a bit of an overspend". Are any of us actually ever cured from our bad habits? If we were this site would start diminishing rather than growing at the rate it does.

Too cocky? Ha ha! I don't think you give yourself enough credit! On a general day (which most are for you) you have every right to feel proud of yourself.

I hope today picks up for you. Also, worrying about disneyland this weekend won't change anything. Other than this weekend's little oversight you have the end goal firmly in sight. I've read your diary all the way through and you don't treat yourself very often so stuff the worrying, keep an eye on the budget and enjoy yourself. You honestly have earned this break and you deserve a great time as much as anyone.

    Good Morning :)

Thank you Missus Knitty and Muffy for being so supportive, I really appreciate it. You made me feel better and a little less guilty about my little slip :o

I have some organising to do for the rest of February and March. I will get through this weekend and then re-assess the situation. I have three birthdays in March for which my paypal money will come in very handy so I am going to leave it where it is and do some frugal shopping on ebay. I am also going to organise my cupboards again and write some inventive meal plans to keep my grocery shopping to an absolute minimum.
I know I didn't overspend by much but it gave me a kick up the bum that I was letting myself slip a bit. I have WAY too much food in the cupboards and freezer probably enough to see me through the best part of March :o I also let the February birthdays creep up on me without being organised  and I have nothing listed on ebay
These things will all change. :)

I was going to join ww tonight but as it is DD2's birthday and we are going out for two meals and then I am going away this weekend where, lets face it, there will be much eating of junk food, I have put it off until next week. It just seemed sensible - no point in paying for a week where I will struggle and can you imagine the embarrassment of turning up for the first weigh in and have put weight on

We are going out for lunch today, me and my workmates. So today is a spendy day :( I think that I might get some liquid gold today too even though I have enough in the tank to last a couple of days but it will save a NSD later in the week.

Organisation will be my word for the rest of February :T

Oh, now I feel guilty! I am in exactly the same boat. My excuse for today is that there are workmen in the lounge and no window so I am tucked away at the back of the house keeping one room warm. :rotfl: Therefore I can't possibly organise the food that needs to be used up unless I get very bored. :D

It would be so nice to have the cupboards/freezers down to a bare minimum which sounds weird but it would mean I was rid of all those things that are difficult to use up!
I have three birthdays in March

Bringing you three years closer to your DF date? :D

Hope your DD has a lovely day!

The best idea is to go after a spate of eating out as you'll be heavier, but it's not established weight so will fall off quickly giving you a great weight loss in your first week (along with the standard water weight). That'll be a massive boost to start you off. Every cloud eh? ;)

erm...*shuffles, whistles, looks to the skies* dunno why I'm telling you this, but I was so inspired by your organised approach to NSDs in previous months (you know - those ones where you wiped the floor with me!), that that's what I did this month. Yeah, yeah...go on...take the credit for my success...I'll wait...:D

Ooo, Freeby! Doesn't that sound like a fun challenge?! We love a list around here Miggy - sort us out one of your difficult 'items' (well, that sounded a bit dodgy, didn't it..), and let's see what we can do!
Hope your DD has a lovely day!
    Oooo, me too!
