Ha ha! I have a very tricky one (or two) for starters: I bought a couple of packet mixes on the market for some Polish pastries but the trouble is the instructions are all in Polish and I don't know any Polish speakers!
I went on Babel fish and worked out which words mean 'eggs' and 'milk' etc. but that's as far as I got. There are semi-useful pictures on the back so I will have to give them a go.
Other than that... did you really say you love a list?! I DO lists in a big way. :rotfl:Don't tempt me!
What a fab challenge though.

Seriously - I have a listing pad and pen, and everything. Missus F is just as bad (good?). We're listing people (in all sorts of ways!
).
Ok. Outside of anything Polish (!) what else have you got (and don't mind me just hijacking your thread missus F!

Lists ... lists .... Did someone say lists??? I'm in the right place then?

It would be so nice to have the cupboards/freezers down to a bare minimum which sounds weird but it would mean I was rid of all those things that are difficult to use up!
Me too, this is the challenge I have set myself. Lychees anyone???? *wonders why I ever thought lychees were a good idea*
Bringing you three years closer to your DF date?

Yeah, yeah...go on...take the credit for my success...I'll wait...:D

Hey Muffy, it looks like it. Give us your 'difficult item' and we'll add it to the.....
1. Polish pastries
2. Lychees
........brand new sparkly 'difficult item' list :j:j I'm over excited now

One can never bee too excited about a list Freeby...be smug in your 'rightness'.
Miggy - I'm up for a challenge. Let's have the name of the pastries and we'll see what we can find out by way of instructions or alternatives!
In the meantime, lychees are easy - assuming you actually like them, then drain the tin and add them into fruit salads, or as a side with any cake (just like raspberries etc), or even just on their own as a refreshing dessert (which is how I shall be having them at lunchtime..nom, nom).
If you don't actually like them, then that's what food drives, school harvest festivals, or halloween parties are for (where you tip them out into a bowl and pretend they're eyeballs...).
Next!

Are the lychees the tinned ones? I seem to remember having one once and it was completely tasteless. Maybe it was an exception.
The Polish pastries looked nice and I can bake... thought that would be enough to make it work, but noooo...
They are probably delicious with lychees if ever I get them made. :rotfl:
Okay, so what else (list alert!)?
*Goes to top shelf where things hide*
half jar of dried apple pieces (solved that one - don't know how old they are but they are sweet and nibblesome so the Small Furry and I are demolishing them)
Half jar h/m date and banana chutney
2 bags of chick peas
bag of plain cous cous
2 x h/m damson jam on unknown antiquity
Miso cupasoups
h/m tomato chutney
whisky liqueur miniature
dried apricots
mushroom sauce
dried mango
unknown h/m jam
h/m pickled onions (those may not last long)
mincemeat (that can go in baked apples - yummy!)
2 jars h/m damson gin
Bear in mind that's only ONE shelf!
Okay girls? Up and at 'em!
