Same as most other challenges id imagine, keep in running totals in your posts/sigs on this thread. Keep track of it yourself as its alot of work for 1 person. Slowlyfading should edit OP on the 1st of every month starting Feb 2012 and ending Jan 2013(seems so long away...!) saying how much everyone has got compared to there target!!

This is how i would imagine its done, correct me if im wrong!!! Wonder who will hit there target first/how soon!!
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

    Add me! Add me! :j

Can you put me down for the 12k. Still got some debt to pay off - but hoping that will be done by April. Then full steam ahead with some serious saving as hoping to go back to uni in October. UCAS application is being considered by the uni's as we speak

One possible rule - is this challenge per person, per couple or per family?

I'm aiming for per couple too...couldn't manage it on my own!

I don't think there neccessarily needs to be a rule for how many people are contributing to each target as it's personal choice really...

I think we should have a rule that you can change your target UP the way but not down, for example I have set my target for £6000, I should be able to raise that to £8000 if I am getting close however I can't change it down to £4000 - what does everyone think?

Hoping to start the year £££ (works bonus) well, so hopefully I can put a large dent into my house deposit savings early doors...

OP, thinking ahead, is it best for us to update our signatures on the last or the first day - I suppose it depends on what day you aim to update this thread on?

Just found out that I shall be moving mid December to another rented property (LL will be a family friend) Cheaper rent and lower council tax banding means I will be £53.50 a month better off. Thats £642 over the year!

Its a super warm house (not open plan) which hopefully means that I can save on gas/electricity.

It also has a watertight garage/shed thing with power which means I can have another freezer (I already have two but the way the LL is leaving a fridge/freezer). OH will kill me as it means I will stockpile more whoopsied meat etc when I find it but that should help reduce the food bills too.

Its also situated closer to the shops etc which means less running about in the car - lower petrol costs :j.

A bit of a ramble but hopefully this should help me reach my £12000 total in 2012.

Slowlyfading - How will this work from 1st January 2012 then? Will we individually update a spreadsheet or something, or do we just submit a post on here and you update the tables? Cheers, Neil.

If you just keep a track of your total (you can post individual updates whenever you transfer some over though!) and then at the end of every month, I shall update the first post :)

I'll update post 10, my registration post, within this thread on or around the 15th of the month, along with my signature next year. The main totals on post 1 could be updated from either. I've also subscribed to this thread.

I'll also make a record in that post of my final year ending position too for the record.

If you want to update your signature continuously that's fine, but I'll ask for an update on the last day of every month :)

I'm going to tweak this and say that you can alter your target - up or down - at any point if you see necessary. So if people's circumstances change, they don't have to drop out of the challenge :)
