OK I am in too.
One possible rule - is this challenge per person, per couple or per family? OH and I can try our best and save £12k together so want to clear that one now.
Also, just to be clear, I cannot add any XMas money saved off to the fund rightit must be saved during the months of 2012. This will be fun!!!
All the best

I think the rule should be new money saved coming in from 1st January to 31st December, so carrying over from one year to the next or saving a months salary and spending last years savings in it's place should not be allowed.
I'll ringfence off anything saved this year at the end of the year :-)
I love a challenge, and something to aim for though :-)0 -
I agree it should be what is put away in 2012...and living off this years savings to save money next year should not be allowed either. We should all have at least £12k cash by the end of 2012. I think the majority seems to be for a house deposit. Do Nationwide really do 95% mortgages?Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Don't think we could reach £12,000 though, we're just starting to think about a deposit for a place of our own (currently renting) but given that our wages are considerably lower than some on here we might need to aim for a smaller figure!
I think we'll aim for £6000 to start, I'm assuming we could up our target if needed?!
Any rules to this challenge? Anything that can/can't be added?
Eyup mrs :hello: nice to see you on herexx

Please feel free to add me to the list
My aim is for £7000!0 -
You can put me down for £7k
I was going to say £5k however I decided to be ambitious with this one
Part of the savings will be going towards Las Vegas 2012...4th visit in 5 years...so hopeful I can save a bit more than usual for during the year0 -
Slowlyfading - How will this work from 1st January 2012 then? Will we individually update a spreadsheet or something, or do we just submit a post on here and you update the tables? Cheers, Neil.12K in 2012 (no13 unlucky for some) £13,400 / £12,000:wall:0
