I figure that I won't be able to count next December's pay so may as well count this December's pay because the Saving itself is done in 2012! It'll still be 12 lots of salary this year and onto bigger and better things (hopefully!) in 2013!

Trixie4 - This is exactly how I am doing it too. I will get paid a couple of days before the end of December 2012 so will not be counting money received from this pay in the challenge. I will still have all my mortgage/bills to come out at this point. So I am counting money saved out of my 28th Dec 2011 salary also :)

Nothing added to the account or pots today but DH picked up a leaflet pushed through the door todayfor a table top sale at a local WMC. It's £15 for a long table and we have tons of stuff to sell like books and baby stuff so we are going to ring up and book a slot for the beginning of Feb. As it is indoors it means we don't have to wait for decent weather at an outdoor car boot. All profits are going in the pot:D

  • Hey,

I know I'm a bit late, as I have been lurking rather than posting for a while but can I join too. My aim is 10000 in 2012, although I am on a fixed term contract at work, which finishes in September so this is VERY dependent on my getting a new job straight away and not having to use the savings from the first part of the year to live during the second.....

I am saving for a house deposit. Like many others.

  • Gosh, this is such a long month. Paid on 15 December, so I'm just about ready for my salary...but have to wait until the end of the month! So, no savings yet this month. Looks like it'll be a final flourish on 31 January!

Well I'm underway, listed 9 items on eBay and already had 5 bids
I aim to make the whole 12k from eBay, I have 40+ years of clutter - the word vintage comes to mind.
I'm going to wait until the end of the month before I actually declare how much is in the kitty as savings.

I am certainly out here...things are going good, only spend £91.01 so far this year and earned over £2,000. Savings are at around £1,910.12. I will update the day before each payday with how much i have saved so look out for my updates every second Thursday starting a week today.

I have had a busy start to the year and im starting as i mean to go on!!
Lots of ideas on trying to maximise income. Trying to spread the risk and diversify so i am not relying totally on one sector of the economey like i am now. Im totally reliant on the construction industry. Im lucky i have got a good name for myself so far and word of mouth is getting me lots of work. My main employer is slowing down a bit but plenty to do for the next 3 months so should hopefully pick up a bit in that time. Need to get myself cash rich asap incase it doesnt though. Aiming to spend less than £500 a month on everything expect loan repayments. So i have £6,000 out a year for that, £13,000 left to pay off debts plus £15,000 to save....no easy task but looking at a total net income of £34,000.

Im almost guaranteed my net income being at least £27,000(the amount of fortnight pays i have this year+last 2 are double because include holiday pay) = £7,000 to find from overtime. Yet im aiming on that thread on up your income board for £12,000 like the rest of them.

Sooo any ideas folks?? I have most evenings and weekends free and could invest money into something to get a return if i really have to.

Keep up the good work folks, im loving this thread and support.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
