    Hi All!

Sorry to hear some people are struggling - remember it is only half way through and even if it has not gone as well as hoped we are still saving!

Haven't been here since March, still saving but I've been a bit off-target. I got a new job (yay!) with great payrise but unfortunately the money-saving has fallen with treating myself and buying lunch everyday (no work kitchen) BUT I need to get a grip of it again and MSE always helps!! New half-year resolution is to get back on track!

Thanks SlowlyFading! And Congratulations to you on your wedding! :)

Will be back on here regularly again to stay focused.
  • Have saved £674 for May, not including my decluttering sales (as I haven't transferred them yet from PayPal etc) - its getting addictive getting rid of stuff & realising just how much £££'s we've wasted on "stuff"!
Next stop is a local car boot...

Bills for utilities have gone down due to our resource saving habits (originally estimated by suppliers).
DH's child care vouchers start next month so that's a further £50 saving...
Also switched my ISA from crappy 0.4% rate to something far more competitive - couldn't change previously due to being overseas...

Still no work for me, but I've stopped looking now as I'm also 14 weeks pregnant!!
Fortunately we have a lot of stuff from DS, so will only need to buy a good car seat.
So I'm also planning on having my Christmas plans all wrapped up by mid-November too (due end Nov)!

I think it's amazing that people are still able to save something, even if it falls short of their self-imposed goals!
I'm not planning on changing our goal, even if it looks like we won't meet it as I'm interested to see what % we do achieve.

Off to update front page form...

Can't believe it's nearly the end of May  this year is going by so quickly!

How is everyone doing? This thread has gone so quiet :( Remember, saving something is better than nothing at all, so don't worry about not reaching your target! It's also helpful for other members to see how people are managing to save, so please post any progress you have :)

Don't wanna be talking to myself... :o

I've also sent some PMs to members who haven't udpated at all since the start of the challenge, or who updated in the first couple of months and then haven't at all - hopefully there will be more numbers to add to the spreadsheet soon! I'll update the first post again soon :)

    Hi all,

slowlyfading, thanks for your message, I've now done my monthly update for May on page 1. £165 for me this month bringing the total to £1000

We've just moved house and it still is an absolute chaos.
On the plus side we're off on holiday a week on Friday so really looking forward to it

I've decided to reduce my target as we've had another big change. Our DD has been offered a good bursary for private school she really likes. She starts next school year and is sooooooo excited. So, realistically, £6K has suddenly become completely unachievable for us as we now need to pay for the school fees as well. Let's just hope we can make £4K :D Fingers crossed
