What a great thread, very interesting to read everyones' stories and ambitions to save in the current climate.

Is it too late to join this?

Not at all! What do you want to put as your target? :)

Hi there, im new and would love to join this thread.

I've just turned 19, and have a full time job.
I currently have £2000 in savings, but expecting a windfall of around £3-£5 thousand, even with this money at the end of the year I would like to have £12000 in savings.

So this is going to help me alot. If I can get this by the end of the year I will be in a great postition.

I'm not sure how I will record it on the spreadsheet but that's the totl and target.

  • Okay so for end of April DH received £5.8k in PPI refunds!
Our ISA interest totalled £164 (terrible rate due to having been overseas & not being able to move them) & we also saved a further £362...

Sadly this all went on paying off the 0% credit card that was coming to an end in May, but we now have absolutely no debts, and are approx. £100/pm better off now we're not servicing the card!

Have also been decluttering like a demon with the aid of a few sites... But will include totals in May figures.
DH's employer has finally signed up to a childcare voucher scheme too, so things are improving...

I'm still looking for work - nothing within 50miles for what I do, but considered over qualified for the more local/ part-time positions.

Off to update front page form now...

Hello everybody, sorry not been around for a while, so many things all happenning at once!

SlowlyFading, I've updated the front page with a big fat ZERO for April and would also like to drop my target to £4000 if possible.

We've had far too many unexpected outgoings in April and had to dip into savings several times throughout the month. I've managed to earn £100 from ebay but this went towards car repair. We are also going on holiday in June and had to book hotel, etc. So, I'm now thinking that £6000 would be extremely hard to achieve giving we've not saved anything this month :(

Please can you break it down into what you've saved each month? Thanks :)
