I’ve spent a lot on my house this month (more than my budgeted savings for the whole year). It is money that I had put aside from my pension lump sum for repairs and improvements, so it is long-planned spending - I suppose investing in maintaining the value of the property.

But in this context, my savings this month seem almost small fry. I’ve sold about £200 worth of goods on ebay – helped by a determination to free up more space in my junk room and making the most of the free listing days. I also took £150 from my spending account and transferred that over to savings, making £350 that I’m declaring for April.

Love hearing how everyone else is doing. Hope the broken cars all get sorted soon. But the 'excessive dating' sounds like it was fun.

Number 57 popping in to declare £398.30 for April. I am also slightly behind my target but I have targets for other things that I am ahead on which have also been saved during 2012 so at the end of the year I intend to transfer the excess to the £5k regardless of whether I have the full £5k by then or not :)

    Off to update!

    Hello Folks!

I'm sorry to hear about all these broken down cars!
Cars cost so much money! Between petrol, maintenance and then they always seem to cost a fortune to fix!

Despite fearing a bad month I have managed to save quite a bit this month! April was a bit of a bumpy ride... but with the overtime and eeeeeebay I have managed to come up trumps!

I have really ploughed on with work this last month and every spare waking minute seems to have been devoted to ebay!

But it has paid off and I am so thrilled to be reporting the following!

#37 - already updated the main page!

    Regular Saver 1 : £300.00
    Regular Saver 2: £250.00
    Regular Saver 3: £250.00
    Online Saver 1: £568.08
    Online Saver 2: £465.51

Total for the month : £1833.59

That is the most I have ever been able to save in a month! And it coincidentally puts me at just over half way on this challenge!

So it looks like I will be devoting every waking moment of May to ebay and overtime! I feel a change of name coming on..... EbayLealea maybe? :rotfl:

A great month where I have being able to save £1277 into the various savings pots! Didnt think I would be this far down the line at the start of May! With 87 days until the wedding I imagine that we maybe eating into the savings a little but as the objective is to use that so it has zero inpact on our daily lives? Things are steadily being paid for in regards to the wedding and savings balances are increasing month on month! We budgeted 2 months ago that bar any unforeseen circumstances we had enough to cover the rest of the cost of our big day!!!!! I want to enjoy the day knowing that the following day, it will be 100% paid for and we wont owe a penny!!!!

Reading some of the other posts on here it is great to see people doing so well, keep it up!

Very slow month last month. Only saved £398.05 in April, roll on may.

Had another £11.35 interest to add for May, which starts me off for the month.

Managed to save £1435 this month - not sure how as my OH is doing his best to spend all our money having started planning a trip to America with his dad. I wouldn't mind but I'm not even going! :-)

Hope everyone has a good May!

£692.71 for April which is under target!!! But have a cheque from zapper and one from ALLOW to cheque, and May has less birthdays in it, so here's to another month of saving.

About to tally my total for this year now!
