£300 saved for the month of April - now over the £1,000 mark - in fact now at £1,120 :j
Still an awful long way to go though. Plan to get to £1,500 by the end of May - hoping for a bonus in July - fingers crossed - to boast me even further!!!
Good luck everyone.

Hi folks.
Well done on all the savings so far this month and this year. It is amazing what we can all do once we put our minds to it.
Over the past year my life has changed totally. I am now self-employed and not at the stage yet where I can take a wage from the business. I am living off OHs wage just now and managing OK due to all the knowledge I have learned here on MSE over the years but things are still tight on a month to month basis.
I would like to change my goal - or possibly even opt out of this challenge as, after next week I am not sure what will be right for me. I have been doing OPs to my mortgage for years now and have decided that this month I am going to use my savings plus some money that is coming my way as an inheritance to pay off my mortgage entirely:j.
This will make the month to month budget easier but I do still want to save. By the time I have paid the mortgage I will have around £1000 left, possibly less.
Slowlyfading, could I change my target to say, £6000 (this will be a big challenge but hopefully achievable), starting from £0 again in June? At this stage I am just asking if this is possible to stay part of the challenge here. I will update again and possibly change my target properly once I know how much of the savings are left after paying the mortgage.0 -

You can change your target in the form to update, so one presumes you can just update target to 6k, and then in the comments ask Slowly Fading to return to 0 - maybe with a mortgage all done comment
Congrats on being mortgage free.
Unfortunately I think this month and possibly next month will be withdrawal rather than addition monthsNeed some suspension components fixed on the car, which were not expected for, and then double whammy with the insurance next month! Rubbish! Typically this came in just after I bought flights for a holiday leaving me a bit cash poor!

Hopefully I'll get there in a week or so.
I know one or two months are going to be difficult to average the £1k so just getting a little ahead now while I can :-)0 -
