If you go to the NHS website www.nhs.uk and search on reheating rice .... there are some tips there that include cooling rice within one hour of cooking, keeping in fridge and reheating within one day.
Normally I do an extra portion when cooking an evening meal, although this week it was two. Certainly wouldn't leave it 5 days!
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
Another £25 from ebay transferred into the savings account

Not payday until 15th and bank account is looking dire (first time in the overdraft for a while- interest free though so not too much of an issue!) but £100 of Ebay sales money transferred so far (will add the rest once all buyers happy & fee's paid!), £80 moved from our bills acct (credited 1st so will count as feb money) £5 from Quidco & £4.80 interest received (so rounded up to £5). Sooo £190 so far this month....now for the long cold wait to 15th for payday!
Keep it up everyone, the totals are very impressive!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Ohhh payday seems like ages away,
Doing some other challenges on here to keep me motivated. I love this site and wish id found it years ago. Im really hoping to make way over my target of £6k but I feel ive kept it realistic as il be able to save alot between Feb and March but after that i reckon it will be around£500. Feb and March im hoping to save £1k each month, We have done a lot of overtime recently which has allowed us to book a wee family holiday to center parcs and also a golf trip for hubbie so not too bad
For us its really important that we still have a good lifestyle whilst saving as this is when we give up if we arent getting to do things or enjoy ourselves. Thats why ive set my budget at £500 per month. Ideally we could save £1k per month but after a few months i know we would give up so we will see how it goes.
Happy saving everyone and u are all doing greatMortgage deposit target April £9000
New mortgage deposit target May £8000 to go0 -

This is so addictive im wishing my life away waiting for payday lol. Its great having so much support as well.
15th for my OH as well and nothing to put away into savings until thenso I'm pressing on with ebay sales for the time being.
I've joined a fab little challenge over in "Up my income" board called "A bag a day on ebay". You just fill a carrier bag full of stuff and list it. It's great as it keeps it in manageable chunks. I'm currently doing 3 bags a week and have been amazed at what I've been able to sell!!!0 -
A pleasant surprise in the post yesterday morning - a tax rebate from HM Revenue & Customs from tax year 2006-07! £139 towards my total, thank you kindly![STRIKE]Debt Jan 09 = £10,046[/STRIKE] Debt-free since 16/12/2011

Afternoon everyone. Hope everyone has built their snowmen and now feeling toasty and warm inside as the snow continues to fall outside :snow_laug
I'm trying to get my head around selling things on Ama*on. I've managed to make over £20 by getting rid of a few vintage weighty textbooks through the trade-in. I now want to sell more books which are actually just gathering dust in the loft. I've listed one today just to test the waters. I can't seem to find answers to my questions so wondered if you good folk could help me out instead?I see that books stay listed until they are sold but what happens if you go away? Is there a way of 'pausing' your listing until you get back because you need to send package 'within 2 working days'. My trip to Peru :j is not until April and I hope things will have sold by then but just in case
Many thanks for your help
