Finally, payday is here! Was that the longest month ever?!
Swiftly moved £900 into savings with my budget all set out for the coming [short! yessss] month. Hopefully I can move a bit more into savings next month.
So I'm declaring January at £900.
Well done everyone - there's some amazing money saving going on here!

Yes, it was a really long month. January is definitely getting longer and slower every year0

Good stuff - will make sure on secured gains are included in the analysis.
Thanks for the response. :beer:0 -
I've totted up my savings now (gotta love the spreadsheets, haha) and my savings have gone up £1,654 this month.
Member 100. £1,654 / £12k
Really surprised about that - thought that after my payments in the last couple of days I may be around the £1k mark, so that's definitely a positive.
Well done to everyone else, keep it up!! :T0 -

As for me, it's not really a saving because I have spent money, but I have used TopCashback for the first time today, which makes me feel smug. It's for books for a project that I believe I started on an impetus to organise my life coming from this thread! Or definitely from the MSE forum anyway. So thank you
How did I do it?............this is where most of it came from, annual interest from a Fixed Rate Bond, 2 x small Premium Bond prizes, Save the Change from my current account at LTSB, monthly interest on savings accounts, re-imbursement of OH's work expenses. I also try to save a bit regularly, and buy some Premium Bonds each month anyway.
I'm still in the process of moving money around so as to get the best rates, I also need to remember to move excess money out of my current accounts, turning into a bit of a full-time excercise this money making lark!
In addition, I have seriously cut my grocery spending, and have stopped buying things just because I think I need/want them. If I don't go to the shops, I don't spend, what a shame I didn't work this one out a very long time ago.
Long may it last :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
How do i go about buying premium bonds? Is there a minimum amount you have to buy? Thanks in advanceFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
