K.Lynn - Not many clothes but loads of boxes of gloves, hats and scarves - women, men and children, really nice sets for 50p - £1, original price £7 - £10. Some men's thermal gloves 4p (all gone now). I did manage to get some £1 clothes first thing - longline cardi, jeans, skirt, baby outfit and shirts.

Plenty sets still available - about 10 crates on shop floor. All credit to the lovely SA who was actually smiling and chatting while unpacking the boxes - and because she was so pleasant, and kept saying how much she was enjoying it all, the atmosphere was great with everyone polite, no pushing and even people handing items to each other! Amazing, really. :)

That's what it was like at my T's at 8am this morning, everyone was laughing and joking at the prices and the SA's where great:T:T Mind you they had only just opened so don't know what it was like a bit later;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

I agree that some of the clothes seemed awful quality, especially the womens jumpers and some of the kids stuff I saw, but I am so pleased with boots for my daughter. Thank God she's a size 3, hope I can get some size 4's for next year if they do get more stock in but wont hold my breath!

as for the people talking about the staff taking everything, the lovely lady on the checkout told me they are only allowed to have a look when they finish or use their teabreak as they have been told customers come first.

This is not the case in all stores though. I have no problem with staff getting sale bargains. I do have a problem with them doing it while they are supposted to be working.

I went to the W*tf*rd Tesco Extra at 9am this morning. Three small rails out with next to nothing on them. Two of the staff with the hi-viz vests on (the ones who sort the trolleys outside) were taking things off the rails to buy. Another member of staff was mopping the floor by where the rails were and kept nipping across to check the clothes on the rails.

I had a look in the toy section and there was another member of staff who kept nipping across to grab toys and take them to their till to check the price. She even got chatting to someone they knew as she was picking up some Twilight Ponies packs (10p if you have them in your store, a small charm bracelet with a glow in the dark pony charm attached). She casually told her friend she was getting some the bracelets, which are only 10p, as she had forgotten to get them yesterday.

I am happy for any of the staff who manage to pick up a few bargains when they are not working. To the rest - get on with your job :p

One MrT local to me this morning had nothing around at all. Went to my other local Mr T and they wheeled out 2 rails of stuff for a £1 just as I got there. Before I or anyone-else could look at the kids stuff two members of staff jumped straight on the rails and took all the kids clothing (to be fair there wasn't that much on the rail), but the staff member that had wheeled them out said under her breath to one of the ones that nabbed the kids stuff to come and have a look out the back as they had kept the 'good' kids stuff back and they disappeared through a staff door.

There were no women's clothing on the rail at all, so all that was left was mens....so OH got lucky and I managed to get him 3 pairs of trousers (fashion jeans, brown chino types, and suit trousers for work).:D

When I went to the SS to pay the staff member who had snuck off to the back was at the SS next to me and she had a huge pile of children's clothing (including four coats) none of which was seeing the light of day out on the shop floor. I was very happy to get my trousers and I'm the first to agree that MrT staff are just as entitled to a bargain as anyone else, but it seems a bit underhand hiding better stock out the back.

i dont see what the issue is with staff getting first look after all it is first come first serve and i bet you have bought more than one item of something when you find its a bargain

Well of course the staff get first look. The stuff never touched the shop floor for anyone else to get a look.

Am definitely planning to send a stiff email to them about a terribly mis-managed sale. How can they advertise it and have one lot of staff saying 'come here at 8am, there's gonna be loads of items' and another saying 'we have no stock and no idea when delivery is coming in'. Wouldn't mind if either was true but I just wasted time trying to figure out which one of them was indeed correct!

get over it and move on

No, not one person. They will have loads of £1 stuff waiting for you!

Sorry to be sarcastic, but the speed things are being ripped off the rails even If someone said they had loads of really good stuff now, it would be gone when you got there.

Only way to know is to go!
