    Hello and welcome, btw! :D

Should I mention that I live alone? However they stacked up nicely on the landing (you try fitting one of them in a kitchen cupboard and they just will not go under the bed) but they do make somewhat of a talking point....

I expect I'll be doing some batch cooking soon, but they are a little daunting.

Oh please stay folk, new and old. How I love this thread! I feel I know you all.
Sun out but cold today. Walked dogs in a pink stripey hat today. Cast off from DD and I snatched it off her carboot stall. V woolly. It just felt like the kind of day when only a pink stripey hat will do.
(((hugs))), warm thoughts and positive vibes to those enduring tough times of any kind. As someone said, it doesn't have to actually be financial to often end up with financial implications.
I'm dipping my toe into the employment scene this week and have 2 interviews, one tomorrow, one Thurs. Mixed thoughts about it as I used to work fulltime then moved and studied, then stopped and have enjoyed the last year finding myself again (hello me:hello: ) and have also enjoyed carrying on my own research and writing. Anyway, any positive thoughts would be hugely appreciated folks. I have been busy for the last couple of days researching the orgs and planning questions/ answers etc.
Braising a chicken tonight in a heap of veg and putting in potatoes to bake as well + one of those packeted nut roasts (M0rrisons doing 2 for £2, beats the health shop prices). Should feed us for a few days.
Good to *see* you taurus. Positive thoughts to you.
Take care all and stay warm.

I'm vegan. :rotfl:Can you keep partridges as pets? :rotfl:

However, the lads next door are moving out tomorrow, and I have asked for all the pears off their tree before they move. :rotfl:Otherwise they'll just fall off the tree and go to waste.

Taurusgb, well, at least your outlook isn't as scary as it could have been, thankfully, and hopefully after your operation you should feel better and have more energy.

    C'mon peeps, let's stick together!

  • whilst i tend to read more than i post atm i have learnt so much from mse and OS in partivcular, it would be a shame to see people "leave" rather than just think "well i don't agree with that but everyone has their own opinion"

it's tough round here as sooooo many people appying for jobs and nowhere near enough to go around. i may have to sign on shortly and i've been trying so hard to avoid it as my local JC is really not that encouraging, i know you get job seekers and it would help but i find it such a soul destroying process having to explain why i need the help.

at least i'll be warm as we have a lovely supply of blankets and fleecy tops etc

Jobseekers is not help - its your right - one that was fought very hard for your g/grandparents generation pet, and they'd be sad if they thought it was all in vain. The govt make damn sure they're always all right so you hold your head high and carry on!

Grey Queen has inspired me to bring out my slow cooker ( very dusty ). I have a remoska ( 650 watts) so felt happy about energy saving cooking especially as my DH swears he can tell if it's been in /near/ introduced to a slow cooker and that he doesn't like the taste.
So it should be a challenge.

No I won't, just discovered a big crack in the bottom.

Maybe have a look at some Christmas work to tide you over for a few months and put off the dreaded JC for a while. Both my girls ended up with permenant jobs (only part time ) through working at Christmas.
As ever though, nothing is guaranteed.
