Yoohoo :hello:

The previous thread was getting unwieldy again so here is a new shiny one. :D

This is a continuation in the series of tougher thread (links below) and remains the place to discuss how we deal with this hard financial climate we find ourselves in.

Further to discussions at the tail end of the last thread I did toy with the idea of calling this one "thongs are getting tougher" but decided against it in the interests of taste and decency. :D

So get talking ladies (and we need some men too so consider yourself recruited boys)...

PS... Can I also make a call for newbies and lurkers to delurk? This is an inclusive thread and there is room for all manner of opinions. :)

Old threads... Worth a read if you have a spare 3 years or so.....

If things get tougher?
Its Tough NOW so how are we coping?
Its STILL tough and not getting better - so how are we coping now?
Its still tough....and guess what its freezing brrrrr
It May Be Tough for six years. The survival thread.
Times are so tough - the Old Stylers have gone down the pub!
How To Get Through The Tough Times The Old Style Way!

Edited to add the last installment (with pictures of knitted male undergarments and everyfink... It was getting tough in 2006 and the workhouse still threatens in 2011

Yay shiny new thread - welcome Cleggie - and all who follow out of lurkdom.

How about 'Thongs can only get better' HJ - lets set this thread off on a positive vibe - things might be tough but lets try and keep smiling. The hilarity the last thread induced has got to be testament to the power of a good laugh!

Ooh, thanks for the links to the old threads. I just asked about them on the last one. I have been lurking as I couldn't keep up, used to post bit a few months ago. Good news Kate for you and your son.

Just had a look at the first few posts from the original 2006 tough thread and I really can't remember what it was like then. This was Pre credit crunch! Was it really tough then? It shows how versatile we are, we think we can't cut back any more and then a few years on in much tougher conditions we are still going.
