Wow look at all the noobees. :D :hello:

Welcome ladies to the thread that provides the paddle when you're up **** creek and if we're all out of paddles (though we can usually rustle one up with some sticky tape and the chicken carcass from Sunday) we will support eachother through the tough bits of life with a kind word, swift kick up the bum or a combination of both. :D

We're having a slow cooked stew tonight which I'm delighted to say was cooked on top of the woodburner. :j SO not only is the stove saving us on heating and hot water, it's going to reduce my gas bill too. (Not that I'll notice with the price hikes mind you).

JackieG where'd your post go? Can you come back and join us please my lovely?

Was Kittie upset about something? I wasn't aware of anything.

I see she has started a new thread about spending wisely rather than saving for its own sake. In that post she says she thinks we are on the verge of an upturn albeit a bumpy one so maybe she thinks the tough thread is no longer the best place to post?

Hope she comes back to visit
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

*gets out a feather duster and gives the new thread a quick going over*

Hello everyone :) Isn't it lovely and clean and shiny over here. I promise to try not to spill anything or leave toast crumbs everywhere. Although if this thread is ends up anything like my cook books it will end up with a few random splatters and chocolately finger prints.
I had to go for a test at the Dr's this morning (nothing serious, just a routine thing), but I've been feeling sick ever since. So nothing much has happened today. I've dried two loads of laundry on the line and have a batch of pizza dough rising for dinner tonight. I walked up to the Drs with my neighbours Wayne and Donna and they complimented me on the chocolate cake I gave them as a thank you for helping me clean the van after my painting misadventure. So that's another three fans of my baking and another addition to the list of people who want cake when I have a baking frenzy. It makes Christmas presents for people easier as well. I find that not many object to some homebaked goodies. I'm thinking about making some candles in old tea cups as well, but that depends on getting the cups cheap enough to make it viable.

Welcome to the lurkers, may you continue to post and a big hello and best wishes to everyone else.

Thank you Haribo Junkie for starting this latest installment. I love this thread and it's always the first one I check for updates when I come on the forum. It has given me some really good ideas for saving money and some great laughs (and a few tears along the way)

I love that everyone is so supportive, yet there are still all the different views and opinions. I feel like I know some of you very well even though I could walk passed you in the street and wouldn't have a clue who you are :D

I will try to post more on this one...
