Now last one out tonight switch off the lights and empty the bin, we need to keep it clean as Haribo set it all out nice for us :p

New trainers today for me! well they are actually more like modern hiking shoes, well you know what I mean, half price -:T:T:T £22, am very happy as my trainers looked like the cat had dragged them in (:o) And good lord are they comfy, am wearing them in as we speak!

Didnt quite have enough spuds for tea so nipped out and tried to dig a couple up from where a plant had lingered - I sank like I was on Morecambe beach  So I think my raised beds are now a sunken garden and I may have to make it a feature in next years garden plan!

Shiny new thread - seems appropriate given all the mending I've been doing recently!

Went to a boot sale for the first time in ages this morning. Got a hard back book I'd been after for 50p - page 51 had been folded down at the corner but it looks like the owner got no further as the book is otherwise pristine :) I remembered a poster recommending boot sales for candles so I kept an eye out for them and ended up with loads, plus candle holders, for the grand total of £2-50. Candles are a want not a need - except for emergency lights - so I was reluctant to pay out much even though I do love them so today's finds were perfect :T. Managed to resist the strawberries - I'm trying to stick to home grown/foraged fruit only - I might go OS at Christmas and treat myself to an orange :rotfl:

HM soup and bread for lunch and whoopsied pork pies and home grown salad for tea.

And a huge sigh of relief - I want to clean my settee cushion covers. I have scatter cushions in the same fabric so I put them on a wool wash and checked them today - still the same size - phew! So I can go ahead and wash the seat cushion covers. Will do it this week to get the dry weather.

Belt is tightened - might have something to do with the cinnamon fruit bread though!

ETA welcome delurkers and Greyhound Angel if you are mostly housetrained could you pop in and have a chat with my Charlie please?

Hello yet another lurkin newbie, i have today found the strength to admit we cannot afford to run 2 cars and so with a heavy heart we are getting rid of our gas guzzling 4 door 2l vectra and keeping my tiny 3 door 1.2 clio that cost us £400.
With 3 kids i really railed against having such a small car as our only and main car but with already paying £60 per month insurance on the vectra and prices set to hike we just couldn't justify the cost.

So though it means an hours hike up two huge hills twice a day to get to school and back, i keep reminding myself of how fit i will be and how we can put the money towards our first foreign holidy in nearly 6 years.

Hope you are all well and managing to stay afloat xx

Can't make any promises ... but send Charlie over & I'll have a go ... just if they're a littlie ... please ask them not to run and hide under my legs ..... and ....ummmm.... please don't blame me if Charlie comes back with a new game of bouncing round in circles:eek: :rotfl:
