I haven't had time to de-lurk since mid summer but I've been keeping up with reading the thread - just!

DH managed to get a 3 month contract just as we were about to run out of money but he's having to live away Mon-Fri.

We've been told that our reorganisation will be announced in January and those being made redundant will go by April but I've got a feeling that it may happen sooner.

Someone - Ceridwen? - mentioned on the last thread that timers shouldn't be used with low energy bulbs. Does anyone know why? I've been doing this for a couple of years and I'm a bit concerned as to what may happen!

Did anyone hear from Larumbelle? If you're still lurking I hope you're OK.

Bluebag - you could also just stitch a single stitch of a bright colour cotton but overstitch several time like when you start off so it doesn't come out, that would stop whichever girl getting a little button imprint in their tum by the end of the day. Now if only I could be bothered to do this with either mine or OH's black socks it wouldn't take me half so long to sort the washing!

Thanks both - I haven't planted it yet so I will definitely will confine it to a pot. Glad to know that before it took over the whole place!

Hi bluebag,

What about a blob of brightly coloured nail polish on the waistband of one of the girls' sets of tights? It would avoid you sewing and would be easy for them to identify their own.

I did start off posting to use coloured cotton, then noticed the bit about 'in the dark', and thought a button would be 'feelable'. Perhaps a little bit of ribbon?

Bluebag - what about a dab of bright nail varnish on the waistband? Or tippex or acrylic paint (just trying to think what's on DDs school jumper that won't come out!)

Bluebag - sew a bit of coloured cotton to the waistband - different colour for each DD - works for socks too
