Hi Mrs M! Feel free to chip in, we waffle on about all sorts of stuff (all related to it being 'tough', of course), we never know where we are going to end up!
I sometimes visualise this thread, and see it as loads of friends sitting aroung having a good natter and passing around a plate of cakes, cups of tea, glasses of wine, bowls of peanuts and boxes of chocs. There are lots of different topics flying about with people dipping in and out of the ones that interest them. Friends come and go with hellos and goodbyes, bring presents of recipes, knitting patterns and 'interesting' pictures, cry, laugh, get cross and bicker, but always make up again. Everyone is welcome, and no-one fells left out. At the end of the day we all go home and look forward to meeting up again the next day!
Or is that me just being silly?:DThink big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Its nice to have someone to talk to when you're in the house alot, not that i'm complaining as i'm a real home bird, but to give advise and hope that you can give advise to someone else too.
I'm just about to start 3 xmas prezzys of memo boards, dad's cut the wood for me from some that i was given so they shouldn't cost much as i aim to keep the price down in true OS fashion0 -

I was thinking this today - the thread is like one long rambling conversation.
Wine did you say? Don't mind if I doI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I've planned my funeral & told all the family what I want, it includes the Shepherds duet for the coffin to be carried in, a few brief words, the hymn Jerusalem as I'm a WI member & Build me up Buttercup to finish.

What a lovely description Mrs Chip.:T
Lillibet, I missed that - think I should stay in more.
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -

The beer manufacturers are going to start this too, apparently shoppers are so used to buying a case of xx for £10 or whatever it is that rather than reduce the amount of cans or bottles they will reduce the amount in them!!liloandstitch wrote: »I am sitting on the sofa catching up being very lazy, but in my defence, I have a carpenter and plumber creating merry hell upstairs - Finally the bathroom is coming together, and the hope is that I will have a door and skirting boards by the end of the day.
I am so glad you posted this, I'm at my parents to grab a caulk gun for the gaps in my bathroom but once I logged on here I'd forgotten what I had come up for!!! You reminded me, thank you!!
All this talk about cake has just remineded me of a torte recipe, I had to use two blocks of chocolate, each block contained 16 squares, every 4 squares had 155 calories, I feel chunky even trying to do the math :rotfl: it was pretty amazing though0 -
Well I'd saved all month to treat myself today to the first haircut in 9 months. Decided to get other bits and pieces done too
as I'm going away next week with the whole family courtesy of the parents (70th birthday celebrations). Then I decided in my wisdom that I ought to have my tyre checked as it looked a bit weird.
OMG need 4 tyres and have spent £329 to get all weather ones  what have I done! Told OH who practically fainted - Am trying to justify it by saying that I will be safer driving in the winter with the kiddiewinkles. Only had to replace one tyre on my car before now so am thinking that these may last at least another 5 years too.
On the OS side we're off to pick sloes tomorrow for Xmas pressies of Sloe gin. Already picked and made jam / jellies from the other hedgerow stuff we forage. So a NS day tomorrow and Sunday for me.
Have fun

Oh, I love that to finish on and Jerusalem is quite a rousing hymn too - sounds like your funeral is definitely going to be a celebration of you
