Orange Wednesdays 2-for-1 movies

Has anyone tried to use the Orange Wednesday on Prepay? I notice on their t&c it says that they give priority to ticket requesters who spend more than £5 a week when you want tickets.
I was wondering if anyone who only uses the orange prepay occassionally has had any problems getting tickets?

You shouldn't have a problem. Just text "film" then send it to 241. Within minutes you should get a text telling you if you are eligable. It only costs about 8p to text. Just try it. It's worth it.
I've used it on my contract and my pay as you go! well worth it. Enjoy your flick!0 -
I am lucky if I top up my Orange simcard once every six months as I only use it for texting and have 5 free a day and have never had any bother getting tickets. Once though used an old sim that I found and didn't get tickets on that one.

I've used Orange Wednesdays codes at both Showcase and Odeon (formerly UCI) cinemas near me with no problems. The Orange site should tell you where you can use yours locally.Summer01 wrote:Thank you, not sure where the "thank you" button has gone!

The Orange website has details of what cinemas do it, but I use Vue and Cineworld. The only week I had a problem getting my text was when it was a really big film out and I think the network just couldn't cope, otherwise you'll normally get your text ticket back before you get your text received confirmation text! I'm on a contract now, but I never had a problem as a low user with bills under £5.00 a month.
I think this is a really good deal for regular film watchers and is something I factor in when looking at new phone contracts, as a marketing ploy it certainly pays me to stay with Orange!0 -

It looks like Orange are now charging 35p to receive a code for the Orange Wednesday 241 offer. When I sent a text today, I received a text telling me to reply "Yes" to the text and I will receive the code but I will be charged 35p. I checked on the Orange website and it states that it is free to text or call 241 but to receive a text ticket costs 35p. It is still a cheap way to go to the cinema but rather annoying that they are now charging.
