after trying for 2 days just managed to update had to disable antivirus and windows firewall

most of the apps have gone do i just download those again?

    thank you:)

just to add all music has gone too

Did you backup before you updated?

If so, you should be able to restore from the backup and all your apps should be in tact.

R.e. the music. I restored from backup and all my music has gone too and wasn't put back on with the backup.

The same thing has happened to quite a few of my friends too.

It's a shame iPhone users have to wait so long for these ideas to be planted in to the phone. Android has had these features or similar ones for a loooong time.

I'd rather have 5 features that work perfectly, rather than 10 that work rather averagely.

iPod Touch 4G - Lost all my music, apps, diary appointments and some images even though I did a backup before the IOS5 update. I managed to restore some data from a previous back up and manually added all my music. But, after a sync, I lost all my music again so have reverted to manually adding data to the touch for the time being.

On the positive side a day after the update I connected to my computer again and all my diary dates have reappeared. So, all seems to be settling down.

I want to put Newsstand in a folder, and still be able to use it.

I don't like the tabs in Safari on iPad, they take up space on an already small screen, and add no benefit. What was wrong with how it was before?

I hate the stupid pull down notification thing. It's annoying, I wish there was a way to disable it when an app is running - it keeps getting in the way when I'm playing games on my iPhone.

And iTunes is still horrible. It rearranged the apps on my iPhone again, and it bricked my iPad (and also unbricked it, to be fair).

The Siri feature is good but I have a couple of issues which are annoying. Firstly I have the setting on that it activates when I pick it up to my ear but it doesn't always work and I don't know why! Secondly if I ask a question, quite often it replies that it can only search US businesses and when the language is set to US English. Can this be changed?

I've just put Newsstand in a folder without any problem, just create a folder by dragging an Icon ontop of another then quickly drag newsstand on top of that....you have to be quick so best having Newsstand next to the icons you're creating the folder with.

As for Notifications you can turn them off or select a pop up rather than a drop down with in Settings and Notification, you select each App and how you're Notified if at all.

    Edit:
Something I found out yesterday, the iCloud Backup; it backs up all your Apps on top of all the other things, which is why my 5GB was almost all being used up, but if you go into Setting, iCloud, Storage & Backup, and click on your device (XXXX iPhone or XXXX iPad) you can select (under Backup Options) just the Apps you want to Back up (after all, is there any point backing up free Apps?) which will free up space, I went from 4.5GB of space used to 1.5GB.

I have no apps set to use Notification Centre, but it still appears when I swipe down from the top of the screen. I want to be able to swipe down from the top of the screen whilst within an app and see no trace of Notification Centre.
