I spent money today. £12.22 on salmon (loads, whoopsied), tomatoes and prawns (also whoopsied). £2.76 on stamps.
Good thing - I paid for £4.98 of that in 1ps and 2ps to get rid of the useless stash we had. Sainsbury's staff are v patient and kind.:)
Bad thing - it was highly embarrassing:oDebt £26k 18/10/140 -
Good Thing that happened today:- another NSD.
No bad things happened at all
Also worked out that with a little application, we could pay £18k by next Christmas. This is even if we spend £1000 each Christmas and take the stepchildren away in the summer.
So the target was to not be any further in debt after Christmas. The stretch target is to have cleared £2k by Christmas.
It is do-able, we just need to try a bit harder;)Debt £26k 18/10/140 -
Spends today
- Hair (roots only, no highlight, no cut, no blow dry) £19
- Eyebrows and lip (I am going to a wedding tomorrow and think ladies with moustaches are frowned upon at weddings:D) £10
- Now for the naughty, Mr Banwa has gone out to get a curry. Eeek, that will be £20.
£50 cash for wedding gift, and I expect we'll spend another £50 while we're there. Mr is driving so no taxi, but still I expect for it to be a dear day. Not that I mind, I can't wait to see the lovely couple tie the knot

Hope you enjoy the wedding today - £50 cash present seems a lot (or am I just tight?!) I normally spend about £20 on a present. Maybe I should have been more generous?!June 2007 Debt: £16,000

Wedding gifts are difficult. When we got married, we got some amazing gifts, and some people didn't bring anything. We appreciated everything we were given, we hadn't asked for gifts or anything and really did just want people's company for the day so didn't mind if some came empty handed. So you are definitely not tight.
But I kind of have the philosophy that I like to spend about what I would spend having a nice meal out somewhere. As it turns out the food and wine were fantastic and I would have paid way more for that at a restaurant, and we had a lovely time and met some lovely people. Plus the couple gave us about the same (it might have been £40), when we got married.
It was a fantastic day, the bride was beautiful.:heart2:
We (and by that I mean I) spent too much overall, will tot it up and then purge my sins on here shortly:oDebt £26k 18/10/140 -

Thanks skintfoodie.
Yes I will definitely wear the dress again. It's lovely. Not that it matters, it was meant to be £60, but I thought I would be able to pay with some vouchers i had. Sadly M&S wouldn't take the vouchers but when she swiped it, it came up at half price. So I had it. In fact this makes it worse, doesn't it, because if it had have been £60, I would have bought it anyway.
I would wear the evil shoes again if I didn't have to walk anywhere;). This is double-poo because they are the M&S insolia ones so are supposed to be comfy :mad:so I thought they would be a good buy, they are elegant black suede court shoes that I thought would be verstatile. Should have got the £50 pair from Clarks. Grrr
Mr Banwa is very cross with me. I feel really bad. :(I feel like a failure, who fell at the first hurdle. I suppose the key is the pick myself up and carry on and not just throw the towel in and consider it all too hard and just try to consider this my final blowout.
Thanks for reading, for reading and not judging.Debt £26k 18/10/140 -
Tell Mr B to shut up, he doesn't understand!
Learn from this, and next time you're off to a wedding you'll plan better - source things to wear from cheaper places/ebay and you'll do it cheaper next time.

Aldi £5.13 (parsnips, cucumber, olives, double cream, peppers and 5kg of potatoes. I feel like I got a lot for my money.)
Eggs from local farm £1.70 for 1 doz.
Good Things about today Need to take a treat into work tomorrow for giving some boys a yucky job to do, so have baked fairy buns. How very MSe of me. Am quite proud.
Bad Things about today. Had forgotten that I am picking up a load of stuff I ordered from the staff shop tomorrow (why did I plan that 3 days before payday, why?). It includes a gift that we have bought for a friend of ours as a thank you for laying the flooring and skirting in our living room, among other grocery-type items. But it is going to take us over our overdraft limit, so have had to extend the overdraft AGAIN. Although we haven't dipped into yet, when we do, it will take our overall debt to its highest ever level. Gulp.
Luckily it is payday on Friday, I can pay vodafone and clear my first debt in its entirety and make a proper start to our debt free journeyDebt £26k 18/10/140
