    GR,

Sorry to hear about your troubles, maybe you could speak to the local council enforcement officer as unless the owners get the cat neautered,it'll 'rape & pillage' any unspayed cats, homed & stray, in the area, which in turn will increase the amount of kittens in the area exponentially.
So it'd be in the councils interest to take action or the will be an drastic increase of unwanted stray cats in a very short time.

Spkie - I may try that. Thanks.

I really wish law re cats should be different, closer to the dogs - cat owners should really be held responsible.

If Teddy or George get any disease or serious harm from that cat - who is going to have to look after them/pay for treatment etc?

Looked at Teddy today, no obvious signs (blod etc) but lots of small scratches/bites all over his skin - now, how can this be right?

How can this be right that the owners of the cat attacking him can not be held responsible at all despite me talking to them several times?

If someone's dog was constantly attacking my dog I could report the owners - with cats it is not the case?

Emailed the council for advice what can I do/can they do anything to help.

Just got woken up by terrible cat screams, not sure if it was more cats fighting or a fox getting a cat?

Do foxes attack cats? I do not know... There is a lot of foxes around where I live..

My cats got a curfew - back in before it gets dark but some poor cat was screaming like mad.... :(
  • Ohhhh GR how horrible:(

Really hope poor puss is OK - unfortunately foxes can attack and kill cats ... yet another reason mine are both in at night:(

There isn't actually much the law does for dog-on-dog attacks actually, the law is geared towards dogs attacking people, or people feeling threatened by a dog, but a dog-dog attack is a civil matter. You could perhaps look into whether you'd have a case for "damage to property" (because I believe cats are property in the eyes of the law) but again, that would be a civil matter so would cost you money taking it to court (could possibly go through the small claims court though perhaps?)

If they were my cats then I would be making sure their outside time was supervised so nothing could happen. I don't really condone punishing pets but a spray water pistol could be the most humane method of deterring this wandering cat from your garden, perhaps?

Foxes are scavengers they rarely attack cats they mainly go for rabbits. At least around here my cat just has to look at the fox and the fox is off.

WEll, had some "aknowledgement" email from the council when I emailed them and then of course NOTHING.

Just had to run into the garden as the black cat was attacking Teddy again, let Zara out to chase the black cat away and brought Teddy home - all covered in mud/saliva etc and feeling very sorry for himself.

Fed him and he has gone to my bed to groom himself from all the filth.,..... sigh.. My Teddy is NOT a fighter, he just wanders around the garden and gets to play with kids when they are out or just lies in a sunny spot when he finds one, this black cat is driving me tottaly insane and the attitude of the owners is just "£$%^&*().

I am now SERIOUSLY considering trapping the black cat (HOW? With nobody knowing?) and sorting somethign out - he is askinny, matted fur, covered in blisters, obviousy not vaccinated/microchipped/neutered/wormed etc so in a way neglected to be honest.

Who knows what disease he may have and pass on to Teddy if he bites/scratches him.

This is the ONLY cat in the whole neighbourhood causing problems, the ONLY cat.. sigh....

GOing to check Teddy over when he calms down a bit - he is not very happy right now :(

Have you reported him to the RSPCA as a neglected animal? Maybe they could be told he is baited/encouraged to fight with other cats? Since his owners are doing sweet f a and they know about it.

I'm afraid cats fighting/passing on problems are a risk we run when we let our cats out, but you know the troublemaker and his owners so that is something to work with.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I had a tom harrasing my neutered female, I just sprayed water on him when I saw him in the garden, he got the message eventually and didn't bother her for months prior to going missing.

I have spoken to RSCA previously about that cat and they said there is nothing they can/will do.

I have spoken to the owners on several ocassions, gave them leaflets with horrid cat's injuries and info about diseases etc etc about why to neuter etc etc (in both English and Polish) but they do not WANT to neuter their cat end of.

The cat lives few houses away from my block of flats and always comes to pick fights with Teddy my big softie boy.

Fred does not really go out but George who is on a cage rest (following an op) will be wanting to go out in the garden in the sping when he fully recovers too and that cat is picking on him too with George being much smaller is going to be even a bigger problem.

Looked at Teddy when he calmed down, he has got a bite wound on his bottom lip, forming an abcess - guess who is going to the vets early this week and who will have a vet bill to pay?

It is just so tottaly wrong......

    :(
