  • oh Buttom i have a black furrball male and hes totally soppy so they arent all mad:o

is there a rescue that offers free neutering in your area? I know we have one near me, otherwise the cats protection offer free vouchers sometimes to help with neutering. if you could contact one of them it may be a good idea and hand the info onto the people?
you may have to take the approach of what a lovely cat he is apart from...... approach, if they feel you are being friendly in an ideal way they may actually take you up on the offer.
one recue near me actually came and took your cat , neutered it and dropped it off for £20 which was a good deal really as saved the cost of transport and less than half what some vets charged.
you can then also maybe bring up the skin condition of the cat:(
i dont even think the attitude is cultural, when i got my female cat spayed i had to come back on a bus and a woman "jokingly" was shouting what a nasty woman i was and boasting how many litters her cat has had....... an area with a huge feral problem i may add..
the girl i got Georgia off had bred her cat to have a first litter "cruel not to" in her words then when she couldnt sell the kittens was going to dump Georgia at the RSPCA gates that night:mad:
a few months later she contacted me to ask if i knew anyone who wanted some kittens:(

Just heard the massive cat fight going on in the garden so run out - again the same black cat harassing my Teddy.

Chased the balck cat across the fence, Teddy did not want to come to me...

Went to knock on THOSE people's door - the guy opened, asked him when are they going to neuter their cat as it is causing nuisance, fighting etc and he just said they are NOT going to neuter that cat. Asked him why? He sai "because".

As I suspected the attitude from some effing village deep in sticks back home that male cat has to have his balls and female cat must have litters....

What on earth am I going to do?

Everyone around here likes MY cats, they go into other people's gardens, play with kids etc etc and everyone likes them. But when that cat turns up - every day now - he starts fight, my cats try to defend themselves and people are complainng about cats fighting....

What a total idiot that owner - told him, fine if you do not neuter your cat but is he does any damage to my cats I will bring you the vet bill.

Jesussssssssssssssssssssssss - what a crap situation to be in :(

Looks like I will have to stop MY cats enjoying MY communal garden because of the black cat's owner attitude - they live in a house, they have their own garden but that cat comes to our communal garden to pick fights....

    :(
  • What a really helpful caring chap he is .....

Does the cat stay outside all the time?

It's looking like the trapping, neutering & returning him's getting to be the only option.:(

Are their any rescues in your area that do this with strays?

Yes CH does but as he said his cat "will NOT be neutered" so I am sure they would notice ih he was...

Plus I do not have a car, for me alone this is next to impossible to arrange.

    Grrrr

lol i have had this exact same problem with a tabby boy and i DID neuter the cat without telling the owner in the end, ring cats protection tell them there is a stray cat harassing your cats hes very friendly etc and you wanted to get him neutered and return him to the streets, just say you will feed him every now and then etc, as do your neibours, my cats protection (hampshire) gave me a neutering number for my local vets for a free neutering for said cat, and said i could pay a donation if i like,i gave the £20 i caught the cat not hard as the little f**k was coming in through my cat flap to spray all over my house! kept him in a crate over night, took him to the vets via taxi i might add as i dont drive and he was done 3 hours later, left him there as long as the vets would let me brought him home and set him free job done ;-) however there is now a ginger tom sniffing around

I have managed to get Teddy and although covered in saliva of the other cat and feelign sorry for himself - he is fine, no wounds I mean.

I am really lost here and dont know what to do.

I do not particularly want to catnap someone's cat and go to all the trouble of arranging neutering, transport there and back (cost) etc etc.

They are flatly refusing to neuter their own cat.

I worry he is also not vaccinated and may be ill for what I know - he can pass whatever he may have onto my cats when he comes to fight them.

At te moment only Teddy goes out as George is still on cage rest following his op and Fred does not liek going out at all.

Teddy is very big but George is a tiney cat and the black one can really do some damage to him when he starts going out again.

It would be so unfair if I had to keep my placid cats in just to stop them getting in contact with that vicious cat but what other option do I have?

My cats do not wander off, they stay in communal garden belonging to my block of flats - it is the black cat that comes over here - his owners live in a house with garden but he still comes here to bother my cats :(

Speaking to them today I did tell them that if they choose not to neuter him - they should keep him indoors so he is nuicance to them (spraying all over too) and not to other people but hey - they do nto give a damn... sigh....

Also told them if he hurts any of my cats I will pass the vet bil onto them - which I know I can not really do.... sigh....
  • I have a similar problem with a stray Tom. No fighting but he keeps getting into my house and has already impregnated one of my young females. This wasn't noticed until too late as she only had one kitten and therefore didn't get fat.

I found him in here again today so I will be taking him to get his bits chopped before he gets his daughter up the duff. We will be keeping her.
There is a possibility he has owners but I doubt it.

Sorry to hear that this cat is still causing your problem it's a real pain when owners wont take responsibility for their pets. When we got new neighbours we noticed our cat got more and more bites and we were convinced it was the new one causing the problem. However it was neutered and years later after ours had died we met a woman from the top of our road who had an cat who ours had been fighting with and guess what it wasn't neutered. The two "fighters" are now both dead bless and the one across the road who we thought was agressive is now best of friends with our two new ones.

I think your only option is the get it neutered without them knowing sad as it may sound.
