Can't believe the bonfire was cancelled because of mud Archers! Crazy town!

Sorry to hear your Grandma isn't doing too well Wendz, it's nice that Poppy cheered her up though :)

Glad the party went well Cinny, can be a bit nerve wracking going as a plus-one when you know no-one but the booze usually makes it easier! ;)

Had a pretty good night on Saturday with my SIL and her friends, luckily she's got no stamina for partying and we weren't out too late. My brother was waiting up when we got back and made toast before bed, and got up on Sunday morning to make us sausage sarnies... she has him well trained, I'm impressed! :) Ooh and on Friday night our team came 2nd in the quiz! Annoyingly there were 3 questions where 1 of us had a gut feeling about the answer which we were then talked out of and of course they turned out to be correct, if we'd stuck with them we'd have won! :o

I just remembered this morning that I'm on a course down in Maidenhead on Wednesday and we're staying over tomorrow night as it's an early start... best get a bag sorted and tell OH that I won't be around! Quite good that the train times mean I have to leave work at 3 though, and I'm going with the lady I sit next to who I get on really well with so should be nice. I actually woke up really early this morning panicking as I couldn't remember if I was supposed to be going tonight and was trying to figure out what date it is! :o

  • Hi girls, feeling bit better today, thanks for your messages :grouphug:

That's very sad Wendz, it's horrible when you haven't seen someone in a while and thier deterioration is very pronounced. Lovely that she got to see Poppy though.

Your OH sounds a scream Cinny, the Coyote Ugly song?! Hehe.

I got one of my blankets finished yesterday so on my way with the November goals. Having to rethink the Coast to Coast running challenge though I think - I don't have the time to run an average of 5k every day - might make it a 100mile/160km challenge instead :o

  • Morning everyone :D

Just catching up from this weekends chatter.

Wendz - sorry to hear about your grandma :(

Tete - sorry about the emotional anniversary :( Love the fact that car litter was your cheer up present! You'll always think about him, but it'll be less and less. It's not wasted time, it's just part of the process. We've all been there

Cinny - loving the drunk socialite. I'll have my social life through you! :p

Nothing particularly interesting happened this weekend for me? I went on a cupcake decorating course with a friend (Groupon) It was great, and I was quite pleased with my efforts. They tasted even better :D

We went to the fireworks on Saturday night. It was a pretty good show considering it was fundraising. 30 minutes of fireworks and 30 minutes of people saying "Ooooo" and kids crying! I thought it was slightly ironic as it was for a new About hut as the last one burnt down

Yesterday I went shopping with my mum and then spent 2 hours packaging loads of eBay stuff! I like getting paid for selling stuff, but hate all the rest of it - you know, like the parts that involve effort! :p

but hate all the rest of it :p

    you mean

    the listing
    the waiting for bids
    waiting for people to pay
    the packaging it up
    taking it to the PO
    and the waiting for feedback??

yep that's what I hate about it too :rotfl:

No baby yet Starnac? Those fireworks obviously didn't scare him out.

Birdie - glad the hen do went well and the quiz, the team name obviously wasn't true!

Tete - i saw the blanket, is beautiful! I would love to receive a present like that.

I have bought all my stuff to make the christmas cake, going to soak the fruit in brandy wed night and then cook it thurs as will be in all afternoon.

Your OH sounds a scream Cinny, the Coyote Ugly song?! Hehe.

He's a something, alright! He wasn't singing it too well more 'lah, de blee blahs' than anything. And I wouldn't know about the booze making it easier, Birdie. I was driving! By the time we left they were so off their faces singing unchained melody I could have done/said anything.

Two hours packing is mental, Greenie! Sounds like you had a good weekend to make up for it though.

Was wondering how you were getting on this weekend, Star! Did you get to the castle for the fireworks?

Last night was fun for RAW! Made a right boob of myself during the main event. It was Alberto del Rio vs CM Punk and OH said I was sticking out like a sore thumb being the only person in our block cheering for them and people were shooting me daggers :rotfl: Oh, freakin' well! It went really quiet at one point so I jumped up and yelled 'GO ON BERTIE!' and the security man did the 'please sit down' hand movement at me :( See, this is why I don't need to drink. I'm perfectly capable of making a show of myself without any extra help. Didn't really pay any attention to my Brother's girlfriend, tbh they showed up late when it was all rush to get in and then left before it properly finished so I didn't get a chance to say bye *shrug* I told my Brother we're just going to buy our own tickets for Smackethdown next April. We'll be able to get closer that way, we were only 9 rows back from the ring last night though.

We made our Christmas cake yesterday Wendz! We cheated a little and bought the kit from Sainsbury's with everything already measured out and the fruit was pre-soaked (and smelled divine!) but we still had to zest and juice a lemon and add eggs, it's not like a cheaty cake mix where you just add water! We're thinking about 'feeding' it now with more booze but all we have is Jack Daniels... wonder if this will work?!

Glad you had fun at RAW Cinny, and good on you for shouting even if you did get glared at! :D OH wants me to get him this t-shirt for Christmas, but apparently if I do buy him one I have to get another for his friend as he can't be 'Team Bring It' on his lonesome!

Cupcake course sounds good Greenie, I'd love to learn how to decorate cupcakes properly, all I can manage currently is a messy blob no matter how hard I try! :o

Well done on finishing the blanket Tete! Has it been blogged? :)

I saw those kits, was expensive buying it all seperately but used nectar points so not too bad.

Sounds like you had fun Cinny!

We were going to buy it all separately and do it properly but we had none of the 'staples' in (flour, brown sugar, mixed spice) so we'd have been buying big bags of everything for the sake of a few scoops worth, plus our scales are broken so we'd need to buy a new set... it was a lot cheaper to buy the kit even if we did feel like frauds for it! ;) We were annoyed after we bought it though as we went to our posh supermarket next door and they were selling the same thing in a nice tin with a lovely little wooden spoon! I'm a sucker for tins and tiny cooking implements! :o
