I think you're doing the right thing with the glasses Lara - what other item of clothing would you wear every single day? You need them to be right (and the prescription too haha, they're not only aesthetic I know!)
Hope you're OK Cinny, families are funny things aren't they? Difficult to live with sometimes.
Am feeling pretty blue myself as it's a year to practically-the-hour that ex split up with me. For a while it seemed that we might get back together and I thought he was just having a sort of mid-life crisis and would come back eventually so my spirits were ok (silly me), but I'm fairly certain he's with someone else now so it all feels a bit raw and bleak again. I can't believe how fast that year's gone and I need to get over it before I waste my life but I'm strugglingSorry for being depressing and carping on, especially with so much horror on the news today. Hopefully now that this milestone has passed I'll be able to move on. Off out to cheer myself up buying cat litter

Oh, Tete
can't imagine how you're feeling, don't know how the weather is where you are but if it's anything like it is here I can't imagine it's helping your mood! Is there anything you could do tonight with friends to take your mind off it all? Big hugs! I'm here if you need a chatter or anything.
And thanks Tink, I might take you up in that offer. I hate dropping my full no cover woes on people though. I'll be okay. I did call my brother but he has plans so can't go. Phew! I did say me and OH will go as it's all of 5mins from OHs parents, so I haven't really lied anymore. Just with held some facts! Decided to bite my tounge on the matter until the weekends over then I can either tell them how I'm feeling or just back off seeing them until it's out of my mind again. It's just tricky with it being family.
We're off to a house party tonight, and I'll know no one which'll be great considering I'm rubbish with names!0 -
Yeah it's pretty minging here - much the same as last year actually! I only have 2 friends nearby - one is about to drop a sprog and has a 3 year old as well so no time for me really, and the other is the really unreliable one I was telling you about
Ah well at least I know I won't be waking up tomorrow with last week's shocking hangover.
I've lost track with what's going in with your bro tbh, but my tack would be to avoid them and keep my mouth shut - I don't like falling out with people so I'd just give them a wide berth.
You're supposed to repeat people's names when you're introduced aren't you, to cement it in your brain? I do that but find that I've completely forgotten it even as I'm still talking to them. Just call everyone 'sweetie' or something?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
LOL at the thought of Cinny swanning around calling everyone 'Sweetie Dahling' at the party tonight!
Sorry to hear you girls are both feeling blue, no need to say this as you know already I'm sure... but I'm here for virtual tea and sympathy if you need! Can't believe it's been a whole year Tete, was wondering the other day when the milestone would be coming up, I hope this helps you put him behind you and move forwards.
Thanks for the Elle tip Lara! It can only be used on KG branded things but I checked out the website and found a nice bracelet on there for £20 so that's my Mum's one 'bought with real money rather than made' present for the cost of the magazine and postage. Hehe :money: Aww at least it worked out for you, even though I got all the details of the deal wrong!!
Tete, huge hugs to you :grouphug: look even the special dodgy one! I am so sorry to hear you're feeling down. It's a sad milestone. But you are so lovely, and there are other lovely men out there too. I have no doubt you'll meet someone great!
I'm a bit the same with friends at the moment. From my core best buddies, one has moved back to Germany, one is expecting a baby with his girlfriend who's in Manchester, one has moved to Lancaster. Another is so busy with her own business that we never see her. But especially in a big city, people move on and it just comes around in cycles. It's not easy, but I hope some new friendships come along. I'm trying some new hobbies and volunteering to meet people, are you doing stuff like that too?
Anyway, we all think you're great!! Are you sure you don't fancy moving to London?? We could hang out:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Tete - hope you are ok, can't believe it has been a year. You have done some great things in the last year - you runs, three peaks challenge, holiday etc so try and think of the good things that have happened, hard I know.
Cinny - hope all is ok with you too, I am here as well if you want to offload.
We are back from visiting family. Went to see my Grandma in hospital today, wasn't very nice as she looks so frail and she is really confused and we couldn't understand what she was saying. She seemed happy to see Poppy though and we got some smiles out of her so hopefully we cheered her up a bit anyway. I didn't realise she was as bad as she is till i saw her today.0 -
Aw wendz, that sad but you obviously made her day. It's probably harder for family than it is for her, that's what I try remind myself when I see my grandma who's also very confused these days.
Tete I'm sorry you're feeling blue, totally second what wendz says. I definitely always think of you as one heck of an accomplished lady!
Lara I love you, bargin kgs are winging their way to me, hope the sizings ok! Never bought elle before but felt pretty sophisticated on the train yesterday with that instead of heat or something.
Went to thirsk for bonfire night and they cancelled it! Due to mud... Mud! If rural towns can't cope with mud then things are not good! Still had a lovely time catching up with my friends then we went out for wine. I got last train home as didn't want to infect people with my lurgy, feeling bit perkier today.
How was the party cinny?

Oh Wendz, sorry to hear about your Nannan
Like Archers said, you no doubt made her day with Poppy. I can't imagine how hard it must be though.
Anyway, we all think you're great!! Are you sure you don't fancy moving to London?? We could hang out
Or Sunny Doncaster! But wait, no one wants to move to Doncaster
The party was fun, someone in a garden nearby had proper Disney-gold-fairydust looking kind of fireworks which were super pretty! Got home gone midnight but I had a very drunk and other stuff OH to deal with who took to singing the Coyote Ugly song and telling me, in great detail, what he wanted from McDonalds for breakfast. Then I had the chore of getting him to take his contact lenses out, be aware that the toilet is where you pee and get him safely to bed. I managed to remember most names and just made up nicknames for the others. His work friends sempt to like me though, one wanted cuddles so I think I passed their test.
Shame about your bonfire though. Seriously cancelled for mud?! Crikey!! Did you manage to find another one or anything?0
