Oooh that's a bit special Shrimpy! :p Can't beat a comp in the middle of a crummy town, no fancy uniforms! ;) I can't believe boys threw bread at you though! That's awful!

My old school changed to polo shirts a couple of years after I left and I don't like them. Actually whilst I was there they had these weird green and mustard collared jumpers that could be worn instead of shirts but they were vile and just pointed out the kids who couldn't tie their ties! There's something good about making kids wear uncomfortable ties I feel! And there's always the fun of tying it round your head when you're on your way home! ;)

I'll bet out of all of us Cinny had the best school uniform! :p

When I was at primary school I was the last one in my class still wearing an elasticated tie! The shame!

I can honestly say I never wore an elasticated tie.
Could do my own by the age of 4, although it was just a wrap round and up and under, never learned a "proper" tie knot
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Ooh thats such a cool job Star, bf and I tried white water rafting in Oz and LOVED it. Bf has no clue what he wants to do in life and all of a sudden decided that was the job for him, came back here and there's not a single bit of white water for miles! So it's on the back burner for now.

where are you archers?? DH works on a man made course

Def don't think you'll be 10 days over, that would be v unfair - might place my bet on Sunday. If the rhyme works it'll mean they're bonny, blithe, good and gay (in the original sense of course) and I think they're nice things for a baby to be!

    I'm a sunday child :D

just caught up. MSE are trying something with the OP posts in green. It's causing a lot of complaints though on other threads. not a lot of people like it and to be honest it's not working on all the threads.

my school uniform was typical welsh school. black and grey striped wool skirt, red shirt, black and grey tie and a black v neck jumper with the school badge on. you could wear a plain black skirt and red tie when you got to 6th form.

DD wears the same primary uniform that was there when i went there  red polo shirt, green slip/skirt, green jumper and green tights. again very typical welsh school uniform. I think she looks the cutest thing ever (obviously) but am slightly annoyed that M&S are the only place around here that sell bottle green tights!

  • In north yorkshire star, thought thered be some on the moors or something but apparently not. I'm a Monday child but not so fair of face!

Loving shrimpys boater! I wore hats when I was at independent school, and weird sailor collared summer dresses, just black trousers and blue jumper at secondary though so not too bad.

Birdie I was just thinking of your dh as I finally went in the main warehouse at work and got serious fork lift envy, what a fun job! Sure it has its downsides but is just spin in circles all day!

    so November goals

have baby (hopefully by the weekend)
    finish christmas shopping
write christmas cards (i always leave this too late)
[STRIKE]DH to apply for 0% CC[/STRIKE] done last night
[STRIKE]BT barcl4ycard to 0%[/STRIKE] all debt will be 0% once it has gone through :j
20 items sold on eb4y (not just listed but sold) 7 items listed this morning so its a start
finish nursery (this will have to be done) DH just needs to do the cutting in around the ceiling now and then assemble the cot. we've got the moses basket ready so we're not desperate for the cot to be up
reduce the amount taken out of my pay for childcare vouchers
reduce DD's hours in nursery once baby is born
[STRIKE]be brave and join make £10 a day thread instead of just lurking[/STRIKE] set myself a target of £5 a day to start slowly

that's all I can think of for now.

I'm doing better that the October ones already. with regards to the present one SIL text me last night saying they were thinking of only buying for the kids this year and was that okay with us. I told her it was fine although was slightly annoyed as we have already bought hers and her bf's presents. i'm sure she only texted me that cos I'd text her asking what the kids wanted for christmas (her one DD is 11 so very hard to buy for). It would have been nice if she'd mentioned it earlier like 3 weeks ago when we were visiting them

    sorry rant over

I'll ask DH as he used to work in Lancashire. Bit far from us for your OH to come and try the course at the centre DH works at. :(

Archers- I know someone who's BF worked here as a kayaking instructor and he did some white water rafting stuff too, not far from Ripon, which is the centre of the universe :)

I wish I could drive fork lifts too, OH has so much fun, he can drive all of the different trucks as and when he pleases really, he took me up about 3 floors high in one and I nearly died I was so scared but it doesn't bother him!

Shrimpy don't worry, I had an elasticated tie for ages too! Luckily my primary school relaxed the rules when I was about 6 or 7 so we didn't have to wear them all the time so I didn't learn how to tie a proper tie until year 7! :o
