Stupid boy! Has he been in touch since? It's his loss, but after 3 weeks it must feel like a bit of a let down.
Hope the office warms up. After spending last Winter an ice cube at work we've had a new boiler fitted but even with that I'm feeling a little cold today. No snow for usCold is only worth the bother if there's snow!
Was thinking the same about the thread. It's a shame the 5000th post wouldn't come after NY - seems more fitting.
Only thing I'm really regretting about is I got a black phone instead of a white one (does that make me phoneist?!) I think the white ones look so swanky and important. But I did get a "Keep Calm and Kill Zombies" case for it so it's all swings and roundabouts0 -
You can't talk clothes and not post links, Poolie! Have we taught you nothing?
Always nice to buy presents with money you've saved rather than having to worry about budgeting it around things.
I can as some items may not be appropriate but here is a couple of bits.

SNOW!!! Wow! :j
Tete, sorry about your date, but it did make me LOL
HB been away this weekend so I have just been working hard. Nearly finished another PhD chapter.
Just got to start a new one now. Got a deadline on 10th for a presentation too - eep!
The problem with working the weekend is that Monday feels like it should be a day off. Only done a few bits this morning - otherwise been looking at duvet covers online. Got a raging desire to spend loadsamoney. Not on Christmas presents, on meeeeeeeeeee!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Ah I see, you've been buying saucy undies eh
Pretty kimonos but I must say I prefer a fluffy dressing gown myself
Not a let down really Cinny, just annoying that I feel I've invested time by this point. Very cold hard way at looking at dating but it's true! I prefer black phones and don't even have a case for mine. I wanted one of these but they don't do em for the 3GS
Hoping the snow goes away and stays away til the 20th!Got a raging desire to spend loadsamoney. Not on Christmas presents, on meeeeeeeeeee!

Not so much undies but some sexy Chemises from a certainly online and high street retailer (fi you want a link I will provide!). Mrs P does have a fluffy dressing gown anyway, but her nightwear selection does need an upgrade so thought why not spend just shy of £200 on a full new selection.0 -
I have been paid so updated the snow ball and it says we have paid over £11,500 since feb, which is great but I am really keen to knock a few more months off.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -
That's great, ROTE!!
Links don't work for me at work, I'll have a snoop when I get home Poolie! Sounds like you've spoilt her though
Going to guess that's the cat covered fluffy dressing gown, Tete?! Because that's perfectly you!
Don't know if anyone has a onestop near them but they're doing 3 for £5 on chocolate selections. Baileys truffles, Terry's segments, Guylian selections, Thornton Santas etc. Think I saved £15 all in, and even snuck a box in for my own gut :A
How is everyone this morning? It's a bit warmer here! (and by "a bit" I mean there was only a thin layer of ice on my car this morning)0 -
That's brilliant ROTE! :T
Had yesterday off to get sorted for Christmas and didn't do half what I wanted to do, typical really! We put our tree up in the morning (after nearly ending up a-over-t in the garden centre car park because it was super icy, picking a tree out then legging it when we realised it was £59!) and I spent the rest of the day pottering about, cleaning up dropped needles (and so it begins!), putting out the other decorations, getting felt to make my Christmas jumper and making some cards.
Going to do my jumper tonight and I'm excited; if it works it'll be amazing! Pretty big IF though!
Hope your parents are feeling better now Dinah, shame your weekend was cancelled.Gracie looked super cute in her little snow suit though!
Happy new phone Cinny! Great deal on selling the old ones too! :T OH sent our old ones off and apparently we're getting £140 for them so that's good!
Shame about the date chickening out on you Tete, think you're right that people just want to talk online but they're too scared to turn it into an actual real-life conversation! There's been a bit of discussion in this vein in the news with it being the 20th anniversary of the first text message being sent; people are given false confidence over text/e-mail and don't actually know how to communicate in person half as well!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
£59 for a dying tree seems insane! Then again I've never had a real tree, always kept it fake, so I wouldn't really know. My friend was telling me about a type of tree that he gets which doesn't drop a single needle, but I can't remember it for the life of me.
It's nice to get all the decorations up though isn't it? I bullied OH into getting his presents wrapped and put under the tree on Saturday so I got a string of "I f***ing hate wrapping f***ing presents" texts. But the tree looks ridiculous with bare feet.
Can't believe it's been 20 years since the first text was sent, I wouldn't have thought it was that long ago! The internet does let you put a more pulled-together version of yourself out there. The polished you; without swearing, mumbling or stumbling over words (in my case!)
Did you get the drawing btw, Birdie? I was in a bit of a rush with a laggy internet connection when I sent you it!0 -
Way to go ROTE! That's excellent news!
I'm sure Mrs P will love the presents. OH has only bought me underwear once and I think it was a bit too much of an ordeal for him because I'm really fussy!
Shame your date cancelled Tete. I'm sure a lot of people maybe stretch the truth somewhat online and maybe feel that the real them isn't someone you'd want to meet.
Started my Christmas shopping yesterday. Only have a couple more bits to get and then I'm done! Things with OH are going really well. It will be 2 years at the weekend since we got engaged and he's going to take me for dinner and dancing on Saturday!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
