Will try and find your shop tonight Dinah, I love a bit of Etsy!
Glad to see you back Birdie! Sounds like you had a great time with all the upgrades! And I know what you mean about people taking photos with their Ipads! They were at it all the time in Budapest, I was so tempted to nudge one guy who was being particularly annoying, in the hope that he would drop the thing in the Danube!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
What's the point in it though?! We used our phones to take photos, I only took about 4 pictures on my tablet and they were in and around the room as I was e-mailing them to my Mum and it was easier than doing it on my phone. Wouldn't have dreamt of taking even my little tablet out and about to use as a camera! They're just sad gits IMO!
We did notice that the Americans out there all seemed obsessed with their phones too, they were on them all the time and constantly showing them off to each other and comparing their massive cases for them... every time we saw a group looking at their phones we'd call out 'Smartphooooooone' in a dodgy US accent and giggle like little girls! 'Cos we're grown-up like that!

I have no idea either! A lot of the ones I saw had awesome DSLR cameras with them too! There was even one guy videoing his open top bus tour of the city on his ipad! I will never understand some people.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

OH was getting really cross when we were away at the number of people who were videoing things rather than just enjoying them in the moment.
There's a new section of the Magic Kingdom that we managed to get into after a couple of failed attempts (before it's been properly opened!
) and one of the attractions is an interactive storytime with Belle from Beauty and the Beast and some of the little kids in the group were chosen to get involved and all the Mums were taping it and getting photos rather than just enjoying the moment with their kids! If that wasn't bad enough, they were getting in our way with their bleeding cameras so we watched half of it through their little screens, if you have to enjoy life though a lens, at least stand at the back so I don't suffer!

Hi Birdie - nice to have you back! Your room upgrade sounds amazing, definitely pays to make it known you're celebrating something, we got champagne and chocolate strawberries in our room because we said it was our 30th birthday trip
I know what you mean about the cameras though, I mean I'm like Colin Creevey with mine, but in New York there were people whizzing around the museums and galleries taking photos of the exhibits and half the time not even stopping to actually look at them with their actual eyes, as though they were going to look at them from the comfort of their sofa later or something! I also don't get using ipads as cameras, they look so cumbersome and awkward to hold!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
So glad you had a great time Birdie, it all sounds fabTotal debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

So sorry to hear of all your tough times lately pilchard, hope the new year brings better times for you x
Bit embarrassed about self-promotion, but as you and a few others have asked, just do a little search on etsy for scriptingle and you'll find me :0)

I also meant to say last night - hope you're OK Pilchard, nice to have you back and sorry to hear of all that's been going on. Also to Dinah - glad your aunt is doing better than expected and liked the flowers - I'm sure she appreciates knowing she's in your thoughts even though you're far away!
What a miserable old day today eh? But must dash as the rest of my week is filled with pointless meetings and conferences so got to do all my work today, plus ca change.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Will search for you when I get home DFSD, my internet is pretty laggy at work. I can do MSE and google searches, and it stops there!
Glad you had a good time, BridieI can't believe you OD'd on Crimmus though, it's impossible. Surely?! I'm all festivelyannoying but I think it's because it's not everywhere right now, so I can control the early dosage. Very MSE on saying it was a celebration though, will you be putting pictures on FB for a nosey?
Get you completely about the "through the lens" living. Bugs me so much too but I know I've been just as bad for it in the past. Now I just try and get a photo of OH and I together where ever we are and leave it at that. Taking photos with your tablet just seems weird. I only really though cameras were on those for skype or whatever.
I feel very bargainouslyitsa today. Went shopping last night and managed to update my make up bag and wardrobe for a grand sum of £5 (2 liquid eyeliners - one's glittery! - facepowder and a WWE logo tee which has had it's collar quickly slashed and added to the collection!) :money: I drove as well so my Sister paid for my tea. Although I feel like she used food to cushion the blow that she's putting in for her visa, and as long as it's not rejected completely, she really could be out there living in the land of the free and the home of the brave by May
It is horrible weather here too, I over slept so it was a little bit lighter (aka - not pitch black) when I was walking Ryder so we went through the woods which was completely misleading as the whole route I normally walk was basically water covered puddles. Ryder enjoyed it though! Hope your day goes quickly, Tete. And the meetings don't drag on for what seems like a lifetime!0 -
I slept in today too
Learnt the hard way that if my phone's turned off the alarm doesn't work! Was an hour late to work! Luckily my manager isn't in today and my colleagues are good-natured about things like this!
Oooh how nice to of your hotel to give you champagne and strawberries Tete! It's OH's 30th next year (he's the oldest in the gang so wants to set the bar, so to speak!) so we're trying to plan a trip away with everyone... we can all afford it now that OH's friend's wedding in Aberdeen that was going to cost us all a fortune has been cancelled!
How strange about people taking photos of exhibits without actually taking time to look at them whilst they're in front of them! I noticed a lady going around an exhibit in Epcot and taking photos of the information plaques next to the paintings and statues without reading them first... just take the time to read it! We prefer to just enjoy nice views and paintings/statues etc whilst we're looking at them rather than take a photo as they're what OH classes as 'Deleters' once we get home since he doesn't like looking at photos without people in!It'd be different if we were good photographers like our Tete here and could do arty shots of beautiful things but we're not!
Love your shop DFSD!I'll be looking into getting some of your stuff once my niece/nephew is born and named!
It's not that I OD'd on Christmas Cinny, it's just that I'm a bit all over the place with it now; it *was* Christmas over there... but it's not got here properly at home yet! Confused! Although what I said about the carols was true... not a fan of the old stuff for 1 or 2 listens so hearing the same ones over and over was a bit much! They even played them with an African flair at our resort... O Holy Night in Afrikaans anyone?!
Exciting stuff about your sister applying for her Visa Cinny, but sad news for you./:(
