Yey on the house Shrimpy, you must be so excited.

MSE hasn't been emailing me there are new posts again, grrr!

NIMs first day at the new job today, I think I'm more nervous than he is.

Haven't put my crafts on etsy, or photos on here yet, as quite honestly I'm scared of failing, I feel like I've done a lot of that this year and something so small as Christmas decorations feels like it could be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I contacted the researcher in Texas about Grace's undecided condition. he's asked for us to send the slides of her lungs over, so I'll need to contact someone to get them sent to him. There is also a genetic test for a mutation which causes the disease, I can't believe we could have a definite answer from a simple blood test.

That's great news on the offer-acceptance, Shrimpy! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

If that were me I'd have sent OH to the sofa, Poddle! Sleeping on the sofa is kind of fun though, I go into solo-sleepover mode :o

Don't be nervous, I'm sure he'll do great! Or charm them with his Irish accent if not.

Speaking of NIM's potential accent! I had a dream last week where I bumped into you and NIM, but NIM had a really normal accent (which is a Nottingham accent in my books! The none-accent!) and I kept saying to OH "He's meant to be Irish, he doesn't sound Irish" Oh! And you had Grace with you, but she was a golden retriever puppy in a baby-gro.

Weird to think of something of Grace's travelling so far! How is she doing at the moment?

Feeling very festive. 19 days until our decorations go up! I'm such an emotional wreck though, I cried at the Snow Man (John Lewis?) advert and turned to OH saying "They're going to melt. It can't be winter forever, it can't!" which is kind of understandable, but last night I cried at the Morrisons advert. I'm pretty much done with life right now.

    Afternoon!

Busy at work and only in 3 days this week so trying to do as much as i can.

Dinah - hope NIM has a good first day. Also hope the researcher can give you some answers with Grace.

Ruby - hope you managed to get the heating etc sorted!

Archers - your poor OH! Hate unexpected costs like that but not much you can do.

Cinny - feeling emotional?? I was mega emotional when pregnant....

Not very exciting weekend here. Did some christmas shopping and went to see my sisters new house yesterday. House is really nice but needs a bit of work , nothing major though.

I am very excited its 19 days till decorations go up here too!

That dream just made me LOL!

Yay, that's pretty exciting! I'm going to do some Christmas planning tonight :) Wendz, did you say you'd already made your cake?! That's super organised!

For any latent OnePollers, they seem to be doing lots of incentives. I restarted the other day as they offered me £2.50 - I've done a few surveys and they've given me another £5! It normally takes FOREVER to get to payout for me, so I'm hoping this will help...

Aw, hope NIM gets on well at the new job. It sounded brill 'on paper' so hope he likes it too. Did you send him off with a proper packed lunch?

ETA: Sorry to hear you're feeling blue, Cinny. I recommend snuggling up on the sofa with your pup and your sick boy as soon as you get home!

Hi Dinah, long time lurker here, but just wanted to let you know about my experience with Etsy. I've always 'made' things and am creative but have very little self-confidence about myself and my ideas, and I didn't really think they were good enough to sell.

A month ago I took the plunge and listed my items on Etsy and opened a Facebook shop/site and the response has been beyond what I could ever have imagined! I have had multiple orders all over the world and have turned over nearly £2k in a month which has helped us no end. It has boosted my confidence and given me something I really enjoy doing.
So, please try and list at least a few items on Etsy, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised with the feedback and results.

    Good luck

Dinah, the reason I (and probably loads of other people!) have been reading your threads over the past couple of years is that you are a real inspiration for how much someone can achieve if they put their mind to it. I know the random opinions of an online stranger won't change how you're feeling about yourself, but you're certainly not someone I would ever think of as failing, and I'm sure everyone who knows you well would say the same.

Great news about possibly identifying Grace's condition.

    I wish! I think I'm just a bit loopy :p

Hope the work on your Sisters house doesn't take too long, Wendz. Must be nice to have got some of your Christmas shopping done too! I got asked by someone at work if I'd finished mine yet so I could start on theirs for them. I think I have a bit of a reputation :o

Getting the itch today. I think I want to move, and buy our own home. You know, have a nice mortgage around our necks! There is one lovely house on our road, sub 100k. 3 bedrooms, fully enclosed garden with a garage and most importantly - hardwood floors! I might ask Santa very nicely for Christmas.

Hope NIM's first day went well, Dinah. Please post the link to your etsy store when it's up, we're trying to get one special christmas decoration each year so would love to have gander :)
  • Hi all :) Brilliant news on the house Shrimpy!! I'm sure it'll all be fine but I'd be the same not wanting to tempt fate.

Anyone on O2? I just had a message with a free gift in the Priority Moments thingy - either £10 Debs voucher, £10 Argos, £10 play.com or something from Hotel Chocolat. Need to have a think about Christmas pressies before I decide which to accept!

Wow DFSD - that's really impressive! What do you sell? Would you PM me the link to your Etsy for a nosey?

How was NIM's first day? And v exciting about the researcher, hope he can help :)
