Oh dear Shrimpy, bless your OH for staying with you though, he's a keeper! :)

SIM's in good old regular post so at least I won't have to wait in for it. Although OH wants to sort out his upgrade now so looks like I'll have another late lunch waiting for a delivery man!

Hope you have a nice time in Budapest Ruby, sorry to hear that things are on the ropes with your OH though. :( Hope this trip makes it rather than breaks it. How long are you there for? :)

Wish we could have gone to see it though; one day I'll get to shout 'Yes! Yes! Yes!' in Daniel O'Brian's face! ;)

When we went in April Rich and I were the only ones in our section chanting that (when it was a nice thing to do!) I have too much love for that man. He's hilarious in Wrestling Road Diaries :)

I'd take a guess at you coming back with lots of Disney crap, Birdie! ;) that's lovely of your Mum though!

Not sure if Nannan is a Yorkshire or a OH thing, Shrimpy! All the op things sound rather confusing to me :o how are you feeling today?

Hope you have the best holiday you can, Ruby :) it must be so hard, best idea to go thinking positively as well as you can.

Birdie - We're there for 4 days. He's just not interested in anything i have to say anymore but he expects my full attention when he's speaking :(

Cinny - I used to call my great nan "Nan Nan" so it's not just a Yorkshire thing!

    Hi all,

Shrimpy - I am delighted to hear that you had the best possible outcome as is possible.

I am not bothering with the holiday agency. We had a great time, and if I started trying to get money from them it would sully the memories. I shared the deposit so only €175 each. I will live and learn on this one.

Oh Ruby, so sorry to hear that things with your OH are bad again :-( I hope the holiday goes well for you both, maybe a break will snap him out of it? I hope you still have a good time.

Took me an hour an a half to get home from work tonight (8 miles) due to four separate sets of temporary traffic lights. Because it was so dark my brain thought it was later than it was, I usually take the scenic route to avoid the traffic but I was tricked today! Home in my PJs with tea now so all is well.

  • So pleased for you Shrimpy, have been thinking about you (in a none weird way!), sure in years to come this will just be a minor bump in the road to look back on :)

Got my new phone today too Birdie, and also waiting for a new sim. Annoying isn't it. It's nothing amazing but I wanted a smart phone as i've got 9 months til I can upgrade, still cost £100 though - frugal month for me now.

Just took a bad fall off my bike, stupid unlit carparks with random curbs in them! My shopping got a bit dented/smashed and I'm all grazed and my clothes have holes in now, want October to be over as it has not been nice to me!!

Sorry to hear that Ruby, hope you still manage to have a lovely time. Bet it's beautiful this time of year. Listen to what your instinct tells you x

Happy Halloween, everyone! Anyone got any plans for tonight? OH and I are just going to watch Stephen King's IT, eat toffee apples and be ready for trick or treaters :)

I'm starting to think it depends more on the relationship than region for what you call your Grandparents, Ruby :undecided Like, my Brother and Sister don't have great relationships with our Grandparents so call them Grandma and Grandad which seems quite formal compared to me being close to them and calling them Nan and Gramps?

Yikes! Hope you're not feeling the fall too much this morning, Archers. I'm sure November will be a lot nicer for you :) How's the new phone?

Okay.. so there's every chance I order a giant Lotso :o But I got a free delivery code! And I ordered OH an Aladdin mug for Christmas to justify buying myself something

    LOL, I knew you'd crumble Cinny! :)

Agree with the grandparents names being a personal rather than regional thing. I wasn't terribly close to my grandparents and just had a Nana, a Grandma and a Grandad (the other one died before I was born) so pretty standard stuff really. Oh and a Nana-More who was my Nana's Mum ('one nana more'...:)). My Mum wants to be called Meemaw (from the Big Bang Theory!) as other names make her feel old! :p

No Halloweeny plans for me, I'm wearing my spider earrings in honour of the day though! :o

It's awful to say this Ruby, but at least it's only 4 days so if things are over then you don't have to stick it out for ages wishing you could just go home. :o Maybe the break will help reset things to how they used to be? As Archers says, listen to your instincts. :)

Ouch about the fall Archers! Hope you're not too hurt. Arnica is good for bruises and chocolate is good for bruised pride. :)
