Hi all, I know that it seemed that I had fallen off the face of the earth, but I just had so much to deal with that I couldn’t cope with it all. I am back on track, well at the starting blocks so to speak. So what I am trying to say is I am ready and focused to come back if you are willing to have me?Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -
Wendz you are so organised! My sis is in charge of mine and I think it is likely to be an afternoon tea thing too - I'm starting to think we're actually having the same wedding! I promise I'm not copying you! (No wonder you haven't posted a picture of your dress yet:rotfl:)
Although my friend did tell me that she is going to organise it and I'm having four hens (!) A week abroad, two nights out locally and a "city break" (!) I just nodded politely! I couldn't afford that let alone anyone else!
Birdie I get so cross when people ruin surprises (even more cross than when they punctuate incorrectly! I feel your pain on making those 'fat finger' mistakes too, especially on emails) When I started my new job my old colleague (that one that talks a lot) started blabbing on about how she'd been asked to organise my card and suggest what I wanted as a leaving present so she had told them I wanted vouchers etc etc. I wasn't really expecting anything as I was only moving departments, and I got the feeling she was talking about it to deliberately ruin the surprise for some reason? People can be so weird! When our other colleague left I went on a full stealth mission to buy her present and sneak it into the office, I love surprises!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Your hen sounds awesome Wendz! And £30 really is nothing nowadays for a hen.
Going to Liverpool for that hen do this weekend. Apparently we're being encouraged to paint leopard print on our faces. You're forcing me to wear it as clothing, I will not have it plastered all over my face too!
Since I've taken over so much of this thread; this is the place I want to get married at. Birdie would you mind emailing me the shabby chic papers too please, been using up some of my old card making supples as mum said she'd stick another box of cards in the school again, last time they sold well, and I figure it will give me enough to attend a few baby groups at least.
I wouldn't go for balloons simply because they tend to be at a height that makes it hard to see about during or they keep bopping people as they move around the room. And you won't miss flowers in the church. Some friends of ours picked loads from their garden, and spent hours and hours decorating the church, they even grew some sunflowers especially as a suprise, and I only know they did it because I saw the phtoos afterwards and thought how pretty they were. I don't think I'd have noticed any decoration short of the church being full of fire!
What's a wedding postbox Shrimpy?
That's rubbish Ruby. I take it your OH is close to them and wants them there more than your original wedding plan? Personally I'd be tempted to book it and leave it to them, if they want to be at their son's/brother's wedding they've got plenty of time to loose some weight. If they want to be there, they'll be there wherever it is. ETA: I typed this as I read through the thread, and only just got to NIMs post which is almost exactly the same as mine - you'd think we were married or something! The venue you linked looks fantastic though, if it's what you want, then it's YOUR wedding, no one elses, just do it.
Well done on the weight loss Birdie that's fantastic - did you do anything particular to loose it?
Was planning to go to another mum and baby group today but going next week instead, we're out tomorrow, were out all day yesterday, I just want one day at home really.
Mum, Grace and I went to York again yesterday. Had a nice lunch and a bit of shopping, mum was determined we weren't leaving until we bought me some jeans or trousers I was happy with....4 hours later the shops shut and I left very happily with a gorgeous dress and suede satchel. I don't think it's trouser's problem, it's mine, I just hate my tummy and legs at the moment.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »No I'm not a member, I know some bloggy people who are in the NW and they enjoy it but I worry that it'll be a bit WI-ish and snooty, plus not many of the meetings in the Durham Dales group are down near this end of Durham. We totally should start our own - just you and I getting together to eat cake! It's silly really that we're so 'close' on here, speaking almost every day, and yet we live so close and never meet up and are both moaning about having no friends!
Sounds like a date. Erm, without an actual date, just a concept of cake! Be lovely to see you again, you won't believe Grace is the same baby, she fills her blanket out nicely now xDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Naturally, were a bloomin friendly lot here, or maybe its just me with rose tinted goggles...of course, it makes perfect sense. I'm on to the rest of you *looks at threadies shiftily(sp?)*you won't believe Grace is the same baby, she fills her blanket out nicely now x
Fills and overlaps it in places...when shes not trying to eat it that is.This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

Think i should definately invite you all, would be fun :rotfl:.
Course we are ready to have you roomontheend!
Shrimpy - we obviously both have good taste. Must say your wedding sounds great hehe.
Ruby - that looks amazing, no wonder you have your heart set on it!0 -
Ruby that does look wonderful!
A wedding postbox is literally this and obviously far more essential than a dress, suits, photographer or catering, none of which we have booked yetWe don't want presents as we have lived together for years anyway, so this will be for cards where you might normally have a present table. I have a little Postman Pat my mum bought me to take to uni who I think might end up guarding it
I was obsessed with Post Offices when I was younger and genuinely thought my mum was a real life Mrs Goggins!

Nice to see you again ROTE, hope all is well!
Ruby could you just paint whiskers on your face? And yes that venue looks gorgeous, like a fairytale castle (like much of Prague I guess!)
Meant to say Dinah well done on the baby group, sounds like fun and good that it keeps you active. well done to you both on the weight loss!
Do you have a link to the dress and bag?
Concept Cake Date is on!Grace's blanket is 100% cotton so at least it's all natural fibres she's getting :undecided

Glad you had a great day out yesterday Dinah.
I love the postbox shrimpy!
And the thing about the venue is the cost: £4700 for everything for 25 guests. The only other bits we would need is my dress, bridesmaid dress, his suit, best man suit, rings and invites. Oh and flights for us. Everyone else would just pay for their flights. Which are about £50 return if you book early enough with easyjet.
Been playing Bacon Numbers at work (you know the six degrees of separation with Kevin Bacon) and I managed to be the first person in the office to get a 3!
