No updates over the weekend for a couple of reasons - firstly we were out having family time on Saturday (pics will go up later) so that was very much the focus, and secondly the exercise sort of fell apart. I woke up on Saturday barely able to walk straight let alone exercise. I managed to walk 0.88km on Saturday, which felt like about 20 miles. I think I must have done something to my back doing 30DS on Friday.
Grace being a madam this morning - if you so much as put the bottle teat on her tongue she retches. Therefore she last ate at 11pm last night. Hoping it's just a bit of trapped wind and the car journey to York this morning (mum, daughter and granddaughter day out) will settle her.
Read last night that York was voted the worst city in the UK to take a buggy to. So today should be fun.
We talked a bit about the future at the weekend. Official advice is that an oxygen dependant baby should be off oxygen for two full winters before going into a nursery setting with other children. This is because RSV, the virus that makes you, me, healthy children a bit sniffly will mean she needs to go into hospital. And if she gets it there is a scarily high fatality rate of about 10%. So NIM and I have made the decision that somehow we're going to keep her out of nursery until her 2nd or 3rd birthday, depending on when she comes off oxygen. The likelyhood is that we'll do this by me not returning to work. I always thought I'd go back part time, so this is strange for me to contemplate. Had a freak out last night about giving up my wage and just living off NIMs. We ran the figures together on Saturday and we're about £305 a month short of what we need. So I have 6 months to work out how to get £305 a month minimum from home, regularly, so that Grace doesn't go into a nursery. It will be a big lifestyle change for us, both emotionally and financially, but at the end of the day Grace's health is more important than anything else.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Your Nan sounds like a smart lady, I'd be running with that advice too...assuming I didnt get too hot-headed and be TOO honest with her.
She is, you know!
But I've never read 50 Shades, so I only know what people have told me. Reading "The Night Circus" at the moment, although it's only a matter of time until curiosity gets the better of me with 50 Shades of Grey. I did read though, that while it's a best seller only 2 out of 10 people actually finish it?
I'm sure you'd be able to find something moneywise. You two seem to have the knack of pulling money from thin air! But is that with or without any potential benefits? You should get something, like you said before you would be her Carer.
Have fun in York! I can imagine it'll be hard with a buggy, I can barely keep myself up right on those cobbles. You'll have a great day regardless though, I'm sure

I think a lot of people would agree with the accuracy of this statement in general. Money opens a lot of doors and buys you a lot of leeway, and the ability to surround yourself with like minded people.
Yeah but beating women? Really? This is what people want in literature these days? This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
I have to admit, I have read 50 Shades trilogy. But it was the worst set of books I have ever read. I don't really see what all the fuss about it is? Make Grey a pauper and women the world over would be up in arms over the book. Is it basically saying if you have money you can do anything you want?
Correction: If you have a lot of money as well as being incredibly good looking you can do anything you want!
Looks and money make people accept an awful lot of things that may seem disgusting coming from a poor, podgy uggo!
I agree with Ruby that they are terribly written but for some shameful reason I couldn't put them down, think it was mostly down to 'What the heck can possibly happen next?!' along with the fact that they were easy to read (like Twilight I suppose, I read them really quickly but my God were they bad!). I really doubt that the author thought so many people would read the books, she might have spent a little more time getting the writing less repetitive and the subject manner more realistic if she had!
Sounds like you had a lot of fun with your brother's GF Cinny! Just stick to your guns and eventually the truth will come out.
I didn't mention something that happened to me a couple of weeks ago (because I had a feeling that NIM would go batcrap crazy and go on a vengance road trip!
), once again it involved our 'friends'. Basically the guy had too much to drink and whilst there was no-one else in earshot he got really nasty and shouted at me 'Don't be such a d!ck. Why do you have to be such a d!ck ALL THE TIME?!' and on it went until I walked off. All because there was a bunch of us in Leeds needing to get back and I politely mentioned that we wouldn't fit 6 people into a regular taxi so it made sense that the 4 of us going to one destination go together and this guy and his wife get a separate taxi home. Apparently that was me being really rude and worthy of abuse?! He even told OH that I was 'being a d!ck' and stormed off when OH calmly told him to watch what he was saying. OH hassled him every day the following week to get him to apologise to me but he just kept saying 'It's water under the bridge. All forgotten' but we certainly haven't forgotten it! I just wish that all of our other friends would see these people for the horrors that they are and stop inviting them to everything so we can just have a nice, no-stress no-nastiness group again; all that's happening is that a couple of the boys are aware of my 'irrational' dislike of this guy.
Oh well, I'm sure people will figure it out eventually, fake people can't keep the facade up forever can they?
Talking of facades, OH's got *another* scar on his face! First rugby game of the season and he got headbutted by one of his own players and ended up with a deep cut on his eyebrow. I got to watch it get stitched up in the hospital, kind of gross but cool! His stitches are blue and his eyebrow now looks really dark and drawn on because of where the cut is, that along with the red and purple bruising on his eyelid, makes him look a bit Boy George-ish, he wasn't happy when I pointed that out! :rotfl:
Hope you have a lovely day in York Dinah! I can imagine it being a little awkward for buggies, but it'll be a nice day nonetheless!

I'd heard it was only about 10%, no interest in it personally, it reminds me of the instanity surrounding twilight. Interesting factoid, highest grossing twilight movie made less than half the lowest grossing harry potter movie...and the avengers, as the highest grossing movie of all time, proved that people will still go to the cinema even with pirating going on. (Yes I did have to geek out and add that in, and I'd do it again)ruby_eskimo wrote: »don't know if I can resist the urge to ask her what the hell was she thinking!
I will give you £100 to ask her that with a straight face and get an answer.Correction: If you have a lot of money as well as being incredibly good looking you can do anything you want!
Just need the cash then

I'll be good, but your OH seriously needs to beat some sense into that fella, personally I'd beat him good-looking if he said something like that to D, possibly with his own humerus...or his pelvis. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

I think this has to go down as my quote of the day :rotfl:
Seriously though Birdie he sounds vile, good on your OH for staying calm I say, if he had retaliated then it would have been seen as a 50/50 falling out, whereas this is plainly one sided and uncalled for. Jeez, if I ever meet him I think I'd beat him with his own pelvis too! (and my sister lives in Leeds so you never know, it may happen!). If he thinks you're such a d*** maybe he should just not come out with you in future, win-win! Oooh my blood is boiling on your behalf now!
My OH bought me 50 shades of grey, think he was being a bit optimistic there :rotfl: I probably will read it at some point but reading badly written books makes me feel a bit dirty generally, irrespective of the content! (I also read the twilight books in about 4 days straight, its the equivalent of binging on sweets, enjoyable at the time but leaves you feeling slightly sick and full of regret

This could be a contender for quote of the day! :T
It's funny but as aggressive on the rugby pitch as OH is he hates confrontation off of it. He doesn't like to lower himself to this bloke's level (which is pretty freaking low) and like Shrimpy says, he stopped it from becoming a 50/50 fall out by refusing to get into a fight with him over it. I would have liked him to do a little beating (just a little bit...;)), but he was unaware at the time of what exactly this guy had said to me and was feeling quite happy and sluggish after drinking several steins of strong German beer, it was only on the Sunday morning when I told him the full story that he got really cross about it and the bloke had flown off on holiday so all he could do was send him ratty messages, which he did all week to make sure that his holiday was somewhat tainted as every time he'd have looked at his beloved phone there was a message from OH!
I don't even know what I've done to annoy this guy so much. He just seems to have picked me out as a target and likes to be horrible to me every so often, he just ignores me the rest of the time. He's nice as pie to everyone else so I look like I'm being petty when I tell them how I feel about him!

I feel so much less nuts that Im not the only one whos blood is boiling, and I agree with you re the not going out together. If he doesnt apologise for it, call him out on it next time all your friends are around. Dudes a d**k and deserves to be treated that way. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
I made sure that everyone knew what had happened before our friend's wedding last weekend
We were civil to him for the sake of keeping the peace but other than that, I don't think I spoke to him more than 5 brief times the whole day and tried my hardest not to get him in any photos, there were a couple of moments when I was taking a group shot of our boys and he ran over and said, 'Do you want me in?' and I put my camera away and said, 'No thanks, I've got what I wanted';). I also may have made a couple of loud comments later in the evening about what a you-know-what I'm supposed to be and I know he heard as he blushed and moved away. I thought he'd make an awkard thing out of taking me to one side to 'sort it out' but he just acted as though it had never happened which was even worse! My Mum came to the evening do and gave him her very scary glare and he was too scared to go anywhere near her after that! :rotfl: Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
