Sorry the date wasn't that great Tete. I don't think you sound full of yourself at all, you're very clever and very witty, I can't imagine you settling for a dullard. :) I work with a guy who I think would be good for you (hell, if I wasn't spoken for I'd be all over him like a rash! ;)) but he's only 25 (which surprised me, thought he was older) so might be a bit young for you? Shame. :)

I'm doing something similar to the Couch to 5K Tete, I got a training program from the RunDisney site and it builds up gradually, starting with 5sec running, 55sec walking for 30 minutes :o It looks good as it is an 18 week program leading up to the day of the run. I'm starting it a couple of weeks early though as I'm going to need all the time I can get! Time limit for the run is 3:30 which seems achievable even if I just walk it! :o

Trouble is, in intenet land, any men who are clever and interesting (and good looking :o) also tend to be really full of themselves, so it's finding a balance.
(Hope I didn't make myself sound full of myself there :o)

What can I say, shes right and I am AWESOME :p(didnt really expect me to let that go did you?)

Age is just a number, and I have a VERY successful marriage to an older woman ;)

Is it a half marathon again Birdie? GNR took me 3.12 and that was half walking half slow-running so you should be OK! Programme sounds about the same as the C25K - if you stick with it you'll see an improvement really quickly.

Glad I don't seem too arrogant :o It's hard to get across what you mean in typed form sometimes. 25 is probably a bit young, but then that guy yesterday was 35 and he dressed like someone's dad ... age is a state of mind really I guess. (I think dullard is a bit strong for him yesterday but love the word!)

Oh Cinny, in that case just cut her out, the cowbag. I would just make my excuses to not be around her/avoid her all the time. She's not worth you getting upset over. Any news on John?

EDIT - cross posts NIM. We all know you're awesome :) But a massive list of what they DO NOT WANT in a potential girlfriend does not a good first impression make, even if none of the points apply to you. We all have a tick list but we keep it mental, you know?

Re the age thing, I always wonder if now that I'm 30 rather than 20-something that would put a 20-something man off? I've certainly seen an increase in messages from 40-something men :(

Can't you put that you're 29?! If a date is going well you can always slip in the fact that you've recently had your birthday and just fogotten to update your profile ;) I wouldn't be impressed with men in their 40s suddenly getting in touch just because your age begins with a 3 rather than a 2!

Age is definitely a number and nothing else, my OH is the eldest in our group (30 next year) but is definitely one of the youngest at heart! I'm just not sure what this guy from work is after IYKWIM, at 25 he might be ready to have a proper GF or he might be wanting to sow his wild oats for 5 more years. It's an odd age :)

It is a half marathon Tete, details here :) If I'm going too slowly they'll pick me up and drive me to the finish line, oh the shame! :o

Nothing :( I keep telling my Mum to call them about him, I think the other family must have got him. But I'm happy, as long as he's gone to a good home :) He was a lovely puppy.

Good luck with your training Birdie, I'm sure you'll do it! You should get your OH to agree that if you complete it, he'll buy you that Gryffindor cloak for uber incentive!

People really put long lists on dating sites?! Even if they were a carbon copy of Dolph Ziggler I'd be put right off by that! My list would be quite sad really, thinking about it 'must be fat, with beard (glasses optional, but preferred), have a passion for slogan tees, wrestling and bacon.'

The doc just says he thinks Grace could be home a week today!!!! The charge nurse thinks more like 10 days as they won't have the home oxygen fitted within a week, but argh! Am off to shave and sterilise the cat.

:j dinah. I do hope they are right how exciting

Diet wise I have lost 2lb bringing me down to 142lbs. So close to the stone mark. Really need to try harder now to get under it

Tete I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. My sister has also done Internet dating and she has no patience whatsoever. She will not give anyone a second chance.

Wow that so exciting Dinah, really hope it all works out.

Tete - the tooth still hurts but have a dentist appointment Wednesday so hopefully they can give me some antibiotics or something.

Sorry the date wasn't great but there is no point continuing to see someone when they aren't what you are looking for. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Birdie - love the gossip, is always a bit awkward when these things happen.
