Cinny and NIM - I just finished Game of Thrones and LOVED it. Will definitely be buying the rest of the series to read now as it took 4 months to get it from the library and when I eventually did, they only let me have it a week so I ended up buying the thing anyway!

Just managed to spill a full glass of milk across the coffee table, my blood pressure monitor, the rug, and the cat. Oddly considering how much she loves milk the cat is complaining about this very loudly.

Have been half asleep or completely asleep all day and couldn't work out why, then I realised they've just increased my tablet dose and I'm always a zombie for a few days when that happens. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Tete - don't know if you're reading or too busy atm, but I found some fabric tonight, not sure if you'd like it? It's actually some vintage curtains, but that means there is quite a bit of fabric in excellent condition and I know how you like to give things a new life. If you'd like them let me know, NIM can drop them through your door one night. If not, don't worry, I'll keep hoarding them until I work out something to do with them!

  • Ooh they're so pretty dinah.

Hi from somewhere in southern Brazil guys! I've had WiFi everywhere I've stayed so far so have been lurking a bit. The Rio carnival parade was out of this world amazing, we had to leave at 4am to catch a bus and they were only half way through, was soo tired but the locals were dancing none stop. Heading into argentina soon so hoping language issues will be easier, feeling very ignorant at the min!

Glad work was ok wendz, do you get paid for those days?

Love the charm birdie, and the idea of an ark one flower :)

Really want to read game of thrones cinny but I have 30 books on my kindle to get through first!

Sounds like you're having a great time, Archers! I'm sure you'll be picking up bits of the language as you go. As long as you try, I don't think people really mind at all!

Hope everyone's well. Applying for some jobs this morning, we're not in dire need of the money but extra's always nice. Just hoping I hear back, I'm applying for the ones with really obscure hours because 1. I don't mind and 2. I'm hoping other people aren't applying for that reason :D *insert evil laughter* So just crossing my fingers!

Are you still doing the cleaning thing Cinny?

I ran some figures last night on what we need NIMs salary to be if he takes a job in Leeds where most of his field is, and the results were truely scary. To break even on what he earns now with the extra commuting costs he'd need to be earning about £12k more!

Wow, is that kind of payrise even possible in the job Dinah?!

Hello Archers! :j Hope you got lots of pictures from the Carnival, sounds amazing! :D

Fingers crossed on the job front Cinny, what kind of jobs have you applied for?

I forgot I had the dentist this morning, my colleague had a reminder pop up on her PC when she logged on to explain my absence... but I wasn't absent! Got there just in time but I wish I hadn't as I need to have a filling! :( My first ever! I'm really sad and scared :( I took 2 sample tubes of toothpaste as a protest! :p

On a positive note, I'm playing badminton today with my new racket that OH bought me, it was reduced from £170 to £17.99! :money:It makes a lovely swooshing noise when I swing it around :D I've been assured by the people I play with that I'll be much better when I'm not playing with one of the rubbish leisure centre rackets so I can't wait to see if they're right. I can't get any worse, played 6 doubles games with different partners last week and lost every one, I may be the weak link in the chain! :o
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

It's highly unlikely shall we say. A £5k rise is likely, a £7-£9k rise possible. So it might be a case of transferring and making a loss for a couple of years in order that he can progress in his field. He hasn't been offered a job yet, but if he is it may all come down to that magic c word - compromise.
