Yes it's born! The other child is Maddy which is perfectly normal (nice even!) so I can't understand it! Maybe it is a pet name but she said it twice and spelt it like the sweets.. :S
Just been to the shops and was so overjoyed to discover that my local JJB has become an outlet store with permant BOGOF on everything that £60 fell out of my purse and into the till! But for that I did get two top of the range thermal base layers, a pair of running 'tights', a hi-vis jacket thing and four pairs of ergonimic socks so am pretty chuffedNeed to halt this weight gain, I've put on a good half stone since Christmas

Capt Cook Square, M'Bro - it's a bit bare at the mo (and not just because of me!) so I asked if they were closing down but apparently not, the girl I spoke to said they're definitely getting more stuff inWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0

We'll be going to Cyprus when our LO is about a year old for my cousin's wedding, I'm hoping that is an okay age to travel. There is also a chance we'll be going to South Africa later next year as my best friend is moving there for a year... and of course a few trips to Ireland... she's going to be one travelled baby!
I think a year old is a grand age for travelling. With regards to South Africa, I think the success of the plane journey will depend on your baby's personality. A good few of my friends have done a trip to/from Oz with their babies, inc my brother. For the majority of them the flight was fine, but their babies tend to be on the quieter end of the spectrum. A couple of my friends brought their 1 year old to Oz a few years back and they said it was the worst 2 days of their lives (both flights). Their daughter is very advanced though, and more demanding than a quieter child. I definitely wouldn't attempt to bring Max on such a long flight because he is very very very chatty (never stops from one end of the day to the next) and just wouldn't sit still for more than an hour. He was fine for all the flights to and from Ireland and the UK (and there were loads) and was very good on the flight to Portugal but that would be his limit. Evie seems to be a quieter child so she might be a different story. Their age gap is so close though, that it would be more stressful to bring them on holidays at this age. In a few years they will be great company for each other on holidays though. Having spent 10 years flying to and from the UK and other destinations I can safely say that if I never see another airport for a few years I wouldn't care!
Flower - how is Noah doing?
Proud Mammy moment for me. Evie rolled over for the first time and said Dada for the first time this week. Very very cuteTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi all,
Have had a busy couple of days as went to work Thurs for a keep in touch day. Didn't do much but was absolutely knackered afterwards so think i will be so tired when i am back fully. OH got on really well with Poppy so makes me feel a lot better about leaving her.
I would agree with CMD about the flying with babies. One of my mum friends i met from australia went over with 8 month old and apparently itwas fine. Poppy doesn't sit still so would be interesting going on a flight with her but think i could manage a shortish one.
CMD - that is brilliant about Evie. Poppy says dadadada although no mama, she says gat though which i am sure means cat :rotfl:.
Flower - sounds like Noah is doing great:).
Tete - wow Haribo is interesting...really hope thats a nickname!0 -

My mum thinks babies tend to say dada first because when we are at home with the babies all day we talk to them about 'dada' and ask where they are. Which I suppose would make sense!
Im going to start talking to Noah about 'mama' and how brilliant I am :rotfl: maybe he'll say that first then:rotfl:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0
