wow! Massive congrats Wendz and the way he did it sounds so sweet!! And a kindle as well...! Lucky girl :) Have you thought about when you will get married yet or is it too soon?

Well done for getting temp work Shrimpy! I didn't actually realise you were looking for work I am sorry! I hope your new work placement will be good and lead to something you're looking for too!!

Sounds good with the sales hauls Dinah, I haven't really looked yet as there's not much I need.. might look in London though this weekend with OH as he definitely needs some new jeans and I said I'd buy him them for Christmas (but in the sale ;) MSE..! )

Hope everyone's feeling a bit better, it's horrible to be ill over christmas!

Sounds like a nice Christmas was had all round.

Glad the dinner went well Dinah. Bless your Mum buying all the baby bits in the next sale. Have you seen any travel systems you like yet?

Shrimpy - glad you managed to find work and have a work placement lined up.

Birdie - hope work has been ok. Shopping trip sounds like it was a bit rubbish.

Nice to see you Cinny! The mixer sounds great, expect you will be making lots of nice cakes etc with it.

Tink- we are thinking May 2013. OH won't be able to get any time off next summer because of the olympics and gives us a bit of time to save.

Will def be a tough year with us on less money when i go back to work and trying to save lots for wedding. Will be looking for lots of ways to make money. My Mum and Dad have said they will help out with wedding costs but not sure how much that will be yet.

We are back at our flat now and need to find room for all Poppy's new clothes, books and toys which could be tricky.

I'm a bit all at sea with the travel systems tbh Wendz, I can't figure out what makes one £300 and one £900!

Still stuffy, sore throaty and therefore stroppy. I'm used to dosing up on cold and flu pills but not being able to take anything stronger than soothers is irritating me now. NIM is happy though as it means I'm quite happy to snuggle up for a movie day (although why you'd put Ghost on for the first time for a very hormonal woman is beyond me - I couldn't stop crying for an hour!).

I like my travel system but i think if I chose again I would go for something a bit more lightweight and less bulky. Ours was very kindly bought by my parents and was £300 and also was on offer where we got the carseat free.

It is rubbish not being able to take anything much for a cold when pregnant.

Ghost made be bawl m eyes out first time i watched too so i can imagine being pregnant makes it worse!

Hope your cold goes away soon Dinah, I'm really stuffy headed with mine today. Been at work since 8 (well, 10 past really since I didn't bother rushing in on time as there's no-one here to notice!) and I've done no work as I can't concentrate at all! Bad call watching Ghost though, all that crying won't help you feel better! :)

Hope you've managed to find a home for all of Poppy's new stuff Wendz! :)

ooh sorry you're feeling rubbish Dinah and Birdie, hope you feel better soon.

Wendz I have the same problem, baby is 6weeks old and has soooooo many clothes and toys, I don't know where we're going to put them all, its crazy!

V jealous of your kenwood mixer Cinny!!!
  • Can't you take any medicine when you're pregnant!? That's awful, hope you're feeling better soon.

Aw rubbish Birdie, least only 1 day until the weekend. Loving your DHs new um, ornament?

I was admiring your doodles on twitter Cinny, are you having it all done at once? Or building on tattoos you already have? You're brave either way!

Anyone heard from Zig? Hope she had a lovely Christmas in the sun.

I need to go into town but can't be bothered to drag myself from my room and it looks cold. But my eyebrows are bushy and I'll scare everyone on NYE if I don't sort them out...

Thanks for the congrats everyone, am a bit nervous about starting somewhere new but I'm sure I'll be ok! Its all the funny office politics that you don't know when you start isn't it, like how many times its ok to make tea during the day and who buys the milk! Obviously I'm only worrying about the important things!

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly Dinah and Birdie (and anyone I missed, sorry)

Archers, I went into town a couple of hours ago and it started to pour as soon as I got there, so hopefully it's dry where you are!

I have kitchen envy of your mixer Cinny!

Dinah I feel for you, I am suffering with ManFlu. On day 2 of this thing and only started the lemsips as there were none in the house. Although I did not appreciate the 3am wake up call the sore throat gave me as it started to kick in. Currently sleeping in second bedroom to give Mrs P the peace of me trying to sleep with this thing.

Wee trip to Asda for the shopping today spent a bit more than planned but could be classed as a stock up shop. Plus they have Stella in bottles for £7 (£0.50 per bottle as 15 bottle pack) which cannot be sniffed at even with the cold. Just hope the price guarantee thing comes up with a nice voucher in the morning for them not being 10% cheaper than all the others. Did notice they are cheaper on many of the items we usual buy from Mr T. Parents also used Asda so I know what it is like and prefer some of there own brand stuff.
