I had a good day in the ch shops on Sat did I already mention that? Two blokes' cardies, a bird print blouse and When God Was a Rabbit (I KNOW I'm not meant to be buying books but 70p for a 2011 book couldn't be passed up!)

Also re bridesmaid, she's not THAT big, she's a tall 16-18, don't know whether it would fall off that quickly. Oh well. No one really likes her except the bride so I'm sort of looking on in amused interest :o

ETA (again sorry) - I've been putting those Extra chewing gum codes in for about six weeks and have had two come good in a row! Woo for a free tenner! :D

Good charity shopping there, well done! :D I keep meaning to go shopping in Skipton and Ilkley as my friend told me that the charity shops there are full of rich ladies' cast-offs so bargains are to be had :)

Funny you should say that about the bridesmaid and looking on with amused interest because you don't realy like her, I was like that too. It's odd being a bridesmaid and being pushed into some kind of weird forced closeness with a bunch of girls you wouldn't normally choose to spend time with. I'm on the top table in between 2 of my brothers 3 (!!!) best men and feeling a bit apprehensive about it as I don't know them; OH's been put on a table right at the back of the room on his own with some of the boys from the stag do, but they're the ones he didn't really like, poor lad!

Yay to a free tenner! :j

    Afternoon everyone,

Yay for the free tenner Tete, I have onlyput two codes in so far and no wins.

This amazon book thing sounds like it might be worth looking into although i don't think i have that many now.

All the christmas parties I am going to are childrens ones although i am going into work for a cristmas lunch but have to take Poppy so no drinking or anything.

I had a nice weekend with my friends coming to visit. We went shopping sat in milton Keenes and was nice but one of my friends takes so long in shops so we didn't get to go in many and me and my othe friend and poppy were stood outside waiting half the time. Going again on thurs with OH so hopefully will get all the christmas shopping done then.

Had a text today to say that they have reschedules our flat inspection for tomorrow , I thought they had come a couple of weeks ago when i was out so now will have to run round and tidy up later when OH is up.

Search by a fiction book title, only about half of them are on there, but under the buy this new or used box is an option to trade it in for 25p. It's not loads, but it adds up, and there isn't really anything to loose if they're paying the postage.

They do the same with Games. Really good prices too.

  • I have a money query guys, if you are on a salary do you get the same pay if you are off ill? I always thought that was the benefit of a salary, maybe I'm just nieve :( I know I need to check my contract when I get home, just what I need in the run up to xmas!

it entirely depends on your contract of employment. If they say they give you sick pay at your salary level then you get it. If not then its SSP for you, like me, I'm afraid.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Depends Archers, my company pays sick pay up to 8 weeks (I think) then it goes onto SSP. Our salary is still broken down into its hourly rate and deducted if we have unpaid leave though. Some companies don't pay sick pay even if you are salaried so you're best to check with HR. Are you short by a lot this month? :(

Not good Birdie, what's up with it? Could have been a lot worse, mine failed by nearly £700 last year.

It depends on your contract. NIM has the first 5 days unpaid, then he would get SSP. In comparison I get the first 6 months at full pay, the next 6 at half pay, then probably fired!
