I use Tesco Discount Brand loo roll - very like Nicky and £1.99 for 9. I used Nicky if I can get it too. I also have used the 18 pk that home bargains do but haven't been to one for ages and prefer Nicky anyway.
I use Formil Non-Bio powder from Lidl at about £6.50 for a box (60 washes) but I got it at half price a few months ago with one of the weekend deals. Still have two boxes left and will stock up at next offer. Some of my family has sensitive skin and my little one has eczema so I have to be careful what I use. I find this excellent. i like Fairy non-bio but I don't like the price!
Fab Con - I like the Lenor 7x fresh infusions range in concentrated but buy on offer and never pay more than £2 a bottle (34 washes). Last time I got them on BOGOF at £3.05 so even cheaper. I find the freshness really lasts. I dont like the LIDL concentrated Fab Con anymore as it seems to clog up my machine (?).3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

I suffer from eczema and I have to be very careful what I use. I can only use Persil (blue and green), and I tend to get it when it is on offer in Wilkos or in Tesco. The last one I got was was a 50 wash powder and I use the top off my liquid bottle to measure it out! I always get more washes out of pack. As for toilet roll, Triple Velvet is £2.50 for 6 rolls in Iceland at the minute or £5.00 for 12 in the Co Op!
and there is a coupon flying around somewhere for it as well.
my bugdet is 10p a wash, but not the cheap stuff as it doesnt wash or just bleaches my clothes. and loo roll is 30p a roll. not the cheap stuff as that just falls to bits and you use twice as much as the dearer stuff so its a false ecomomy.life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0 -
I have not bought a separate washing up liquid for ages as I discovered Stardrops is very good. I use this for cleaning anyway and findit goes a long way.Slimming World at target0

Talking of stardrops....I picked up some laundry liquid from poundworld yesterday, it was called Alur and does 18 washes. Was going to walk straight past it but I noticed the Stardrops symbol on the bottle and thought it was worth a try. Tried it today - it was a bit watery and I thought oh this is going to be rubbish, but my washing came out really clean and it did smell nice. I'm going to do a few more loads before I make my mind up...anyone else tried it?0

the last time we got washing powder from there was over 6 months ago it was a 90 wash box of daz for £10.95 inc vat i think thay are doing a large box of surf for £7.99 ish + vat0 -
Thanks everyone for all the info as its very helpful. I'm going to try some of your suggestions to see if i can get a toilet roll we like for less than 31p.
Have been a bit busy so couldn't post sooner. The info about per wash was really good so I will look around with better info now on which to do calculations.
Also I notice people mentioned dishwashing tablets - I've switched to Aldi at less than 1p a tablet as they were voted best by Which and I'm very happy with them. However in Tesco allegedly there is a 40 box of Finish Quantum for £1.78 on hotuk deals but don't know if thats true. Asda apparnetly have a box of Finish 85 tablets for £6
I did find these 2 offers today for washing gel/powder at Tesco on their website so it is verified so I hope it helps someone.
Surf 50 washes tesco £4.74 from 12.10.2011
Ariel 1068ml gel from tomorrow at Tesco is £5 reduced from £8.17 and you can print a £1 off coupon from supersavvy so that makes it £4. (but its £4 anyway in Asda).
Not sure how many washes the Ariel does but sounds a bargain to me, so I hope it helps someone.0 -
I buy toilet roll from Costco when its on offer, its normally Charmin and I think is around £8.50ish plus VAT for 40 rolls. I only buy when its on the offer though, otherwise it works out the same price as buying loo roll from a supermarket.0

I get Asdas own, 24 rolls for £8 and that lasts ages - I prefer to spend money on fabric conditioner to soap powder, so get lenor/comfort but just a cheapy soap powder.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -
