Thanks guys, it's spurred me on to get below £140k by next year!! :D

So the New Year has started with very wet weather but we're off out today anyway, to the MIL's for lunch.. I'd rather be at home sorting out my freezers and meal planning but never mind!

    So plan for today -
    • lunch out - done
    • freezer inventory - done- too much bread, not enough meals!
    • meal plan for Jan - needs to be healthy, healthy, healthy!! - done, healthy in the main, a few treats along the way
    • get stuff ready for work tomorrow - done
It's a very busy time at work when I get back and we'll be working all through this weekend coming, so I need to get organised with meals if I plan to eat healthily.. I still have my 42lbs to lose, except now I've added another 4lb on because of Xmas!

So 46lbs to lose, hopefully before the summer. Fat club starts as soon as i'm back at work - potential winnings of £15 per month if I can lose loads, imagine the interest I could save on this as an OP :rotfl:obsessed, moi?

    Evening everyone..

What a busy week it's been!

Some money saving and no money spending :T all down to the fact I've done 25 hours overtime since we went back on the 2nd  so haven't been out anywhere.

Luckily, I have the day off tomorrow and OH is out so I think I might have a quiet day and read a good book :D it's been ages since I've done that.

Going to catch up with everyone...

  • Hi. Am currently housebound due to knee surgery yesterday and have just read your diary right from the start. Like you I'm aiming for inroads into the mortgage and for weightloss and am impressed by your achievements so far. I'll probably lurk and keep an eye on how things progress for you.

    Hi in need of,

Hope your surgery has gone well, thanks for reading my diary!

I'll pop and find yours in a bit! I think it's really motivational to write everything down as you can go back and see how far you come..

So today hasn't gone as planned, OH hasn't gone out so we popped to the butchers and spent a small fortune instead of reading my book, £76 spent but that was for massive packs of chicken breasts, bacon, gammon, steak, beef and pork. Should last a good couple of months :T

I've also spent a bit of time doing some electronic de-cluttering - removing people/companies from twitter & facebook and unsubscribing from all the random newsletters I must have joined at some point.

I've now gone from 20-30 emails a day to just 7ish.. :T it's amazing how much time it saves - and there isn't any temptation to buy tat just because it's on offer!

Now to start de-cluttering physical stuff in the house :rotfl:hmmm maybe another day..

Well not much to report from Moo Towers, just a few bits :
    • managed to stick to the meal plan - only a few bits needed this week instead of a normal shop, the freezer is rammed so I can't buy anything anyway :o
    • worked normal-ish hours this week - with a few bits of overtime
    • lost 4.5lbs in my first week of healthiness :j
    • new fence has been delivered, OH managed to get it through work so it was at trade price - 12 panels for £117.75:T neighbours offered to pay towards it but I turned them down as they've been fixing the old one
    11 days till payday :j

New fence sounds lovely - did yours blow down in the weather?

Hi Bluemoo.. our fence dis-integrated in the weather  not sure whether the fence is ours or the neighbours but we've offered to replace this time as we can get it at trade.

Can't wait to have a nice looking fence up, the current one is all mouldy and rotten! Unfortunately, to get the fence panels into the slots we have to cut off most of the overhang of next doors damson tree so there won't be any fruit for us this year off this one :( but we'll still have the one out the front :j

Not much done today, had to get up early to go to the doctor's to get a prescription sorted.. and then just came home and sat a lot, have a headache and my poorly eye is aching so if i'm not careful (read : lazy) i'll end up with a migraine.. or that's what i'm telling OH :rotfl:

Eating wise - well the diet seems to have gone off the rails the last few days so not expecting great results this week, if I haven't put on then i'll be happy!

    So spends today
    • prescription - £7.85
    • book of stamps £6.00
    • milk, lettuce and ham - £6.45
    • OH going to the shop for cat food - £17.78 :( yogurts were on offer apparently!
I'm a bit grumpy with the grocery shopping as I was hoping to have minimal spends this week but we're already over half what we usually buy a week!

Busy day today in the house :jI like having a busy day and getting stuff done..
    • OH has replaced the 3 worst panels of the fence, 2(back fence) were completely rotten and one was in bits anyway! Nice neighbour helped, but over the back neighbour completely ignored them fixing it - very rude!!
    • scrubbed the kitchen clean and vacuumed the whole house thoroughly
    • batched cooked - sweet pot & BNS soup, sweet pot & BNS lasagne for tomorrow and shepherds pie with leftover lamb from xmas for tea tonight
    • popped to town - got HFW's Veg book for free. OH got two books for xmas that he already had so we took those back and swapped them:j HFW was only £5 in Smiths anyway but free is better - i'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes :T and hopefully it'll reduce our meat intake
So we're now pooped and will be spending the evening catching up with a movie, minus the popcorn and chocolate because we're both watching what we eat :(:rotfl:

Hello everybody.. lovely day for ducks again!

I was hoping that my pay may have come through today but looks like I've got to wait until Monday :( bored of waiting now :rotfl:

Spreadsheet is all update anyway and then the actual money shuffling will need to be done on Monday :j

Last year I made a note on my spreadsheet that my MOT was up on 20th Jan - I've only just noticed it  ooopppsss... luckily the garage was still open and we've booked it in for Monday, lets hope it's not going to cost too much!

It does mean that Monday is an impromptu day off work :j:j and I get a lot of exercise from walking home from the garage!:o

Other money savings news... errmmmmm none!

Lost 1.5lb this week.. :T hurrah! We are trying Hairy Bikers Jalfrezi tonight so looking forward to that  and low calorie to boot.

    Have a good day x
