  • :D been reading most of this thread this morning, and curiosity got the better of me so signed up to pof.

Spur of the moment, so put some claptrap on until I can see what others have put, don't have a recent photo so left that out. Obviously I don't know the ettiqute on dating sites, messaged one chap as his info was intentionally hilarious, I just said hi, that i'd just joined and had come across his profile and thought it was fab.

He messaged me back to say thanks, upload a picture to improve your chances - so either he's giving me tips, or the brush off :D:D

Off to sort my info out

Good luck with POF! I am on that site..haven't met Mr Right yet, but chatted to lots of guys so far!
Even when you feel like you have nothing, someone else has far less. Find them and help them. You’ll see why.....

Decided i want to try to lose a chunk of my weight this year

If I meet someone along the way then great if not, then its no big deal. Either I'll find her or she'll find me- it'll happen one way or t'other

Me too, Scotty. The penny has finally dropped for me that it doesn`t matter how nice I try to be, people do judge a book by the cover and no-one is ever going to fancy me while I am obese. I am not planning to lose weight just to find a man, I am doing it for myself and for my health. But I do hope that I will one day find someone to make some sort of relationship with. When that time comes, being slimmer and healthier will mean that I will have more confidence and be in a better position to enjoy it while it lasts.

Happy New Year to all of you, wishing you all lots of luck, love and fun for 2012.

people do judge a book by the cover and no-one is ever going to fancy me while I am obese. .

I'm a size 18 and have met men who fancy me, I have had some nasty ones who do put dress size before but that can happen to anyone of any dress size.

Some don't care about dress size, it is confidence and sexiness that will turn a man or woman on it just depends if they are mature and confident enough to just go with the flow.

I have 'dated' a man in the past, said he only liked tall slim woman so we met as friends it wasn't long before he started flirting and we saw each other for a while. Even now 2 years on he is battling with himself because he now has a GF but wants to sleep with me. He said it was my sexual confidence and he found me sexy.

I have also myself dated men with muscles and 6packs, the last one was gorgeous but boring as hell I soon realised the sex was also rubbish as I didn't find him sexy and there was no chemistry but have been driven wild by average looking men.....I can honestly say I have no 'type'

So yes there are some with their heads up their bums and cannot open their mind that attraction goes far deeper than dress size, height etc ok so a nice face/smile will catch the eye but the rest can build over time.

By the way there are also men who pay to see naked photos of HUGE women eg 20-40 stone women.

I think what men may worry about is being lazy, I couldn't date a lazy man myself as I like to go for walks, I horse ride twice a week etc I get bored sitting round so wouldn't get on with an X box man.

Dating sites do encourage people to be too picky, they allow you to draw a blueprint of the kind of person you want to date. You can tailor the search options for height, hair colour, body type, if they have a car, earnings etc....

I also use a site where all it displays is your age and location, I have met more people off there as people will chat to you going by your pics and get to know you without knowing any stats.

Believe me men like that are a pain in the !!!!, look pretty but are special needs esp before competing.

    I'd like someone normal.
