I joined okcupid a few weeks ago. It's been enlightening to say the least! I've had two men asking if they can be my slave, a mountain walker who was asking if I was hot, hot, hot as he was naught, naughty, naughty, withinn two messages! I did speak to a nice guy the fist night who I put a picture up for as I hadn't had one, and then he disappeared so I do wonder if that was a false profile to get you to put pictures up...
However I've had two nice chats, one with a bloke from a nearby town, but he admitted he would rather meet than chat as he had been on there a while and thought meeting was better as otherwise you could waste time chatting to someone unsuitable. Fair point, so we agreed that if he is ever in my area he will message me and I'll see if I'm feeling brave enough! Then there's the Irish man, who seems genuinely lovely and we really really do seem to get on well. Unfortunately he's way too far away, but it's just nice to have someone to talk to, and we make each other laugh. I am off to Ireland in the Autumn though with a friend so I have said maybe we can meet for a drink.
I'm not looking for the love of my life at the moment, just reigniting my interest in the opposite sex, so it's been great for me so far!0 -
Guy 4) Definitely genuine. Kinda liked this one. But have also said to another I will meet him after he gets back from his holiday?
What should I do? Do I arrange another date with Guy 4, or wait until ive met Guy 5!!0 -

Multi dating is THE way to go, otherwise someone might get away while you are humming and hawing about someone else. I give people 3 dates then make my mind up.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
I just feel guilty doing it this way. I know its the way to go and im trying my best to get my head around it.
When i was younger i didn't date like this, its all such a new ball game.
Guy 4 was really genuine and nice. But im messaging 3 others, one has asked to meet me after his holiday and the other 2 havnt asked as yet. Im more interested in one of those than the other.
Ive had 3 meet ups as ive said and all of them were off putting so they've been knocked off my list of potentials :rotfl:0 -

I have probably said this elsewhere on this thread but the ones I was really into initially tended to be a disappointment and the ones that were slower burners ended up having the most potential. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Hmm guy 4) Not so normal, too much baggage, with his ex girlfriend. Just found out he split with her 3 weeks ago........
Not good in my eyes. He said he had no baggage... But is still in contact with her even thought he said he wasn't. Lie 1 then.......0 -
I met my partner via Dating Direct in 2008 (I'm not sure if it's still going or not). It was a first for both of us and we agreed to meet after a few weeks of online chatting and phone calls etc and we've now been together for five years, we have twin boys who are now four and we celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary this month. Neither of us had tried online dating sites before so it was just meant to be that our paths crossed in the way they did. There are plenty of nutters out there, sadly, and it's unfortunate that too many hide behind this invented persona rather than being themselves... they all get caught out in the end so my advice is... "be honest, be yourself and you'll find the person who's right for you..."
Happy hunting...!Marge... if the bible has taught us nothing else, which it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girls sports like hot oil wrestling, foxy boxing and such and such...! Homer Simpson0 -

OMG, and a bit of a lol in amazement moment really. Bored and looking round PoF, they have a 'date feedback' bit where you can comment on
How well did your date connect in person (select one)
How closely did your date resemble her/his profile (select one)
Scale of 1-5:
Conversation skills
Manners
Sense of Humour
Open mindedness
What did you like (load of options to tick)
What do you think could improve (load of options to tick)
OMG - I don't know what relevance it has - unless they're going to reveal the info to the other half of the date. But personally I think that's awful, and wouldn't fill it in. Or maybe I;m just naieve and someone can enlighten me?0 -
I met my OH on POF last year, I had loads of messages from blokes that were blatently only after 1 thing on there but I met 2 men in real life and they were both lovely. The first was a nice bloke and we did stay intouch for a while via text but there was no *spark* and the other was my OH and he is amazing. You just have to weed out the good ones!!0
