Cheers Becky, It'll happen one day. Thanks for the kind words though.
Were you going on your date?0 -
We're going out for a meal, so I hope the food and conversation are good. Sometimes I feel that meals on a first date are a bit risky, but I've got a good feeling about this one.Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

as long as its not Italian, little bit hard to eat it safely with out a little spillage, and some garlic breath left over to dampen the good night kiss.
If so don't wear a white top and try to avoid spag boll0 -

Don't worry I won't be wearing a white top, although I am still debating what to wear. Spag bol and noodles are defintely foods to avoid on a first date!Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000 -
Agreed
Just wear what you are comfortable in and what flatters you. As long as you feel comfortable and good in what you were it will show0 -
Good luck with the dates guys! Don't forget to report back!0

Some guy from POF asked me today if I wanted to meet up. I've only spoken to him a few times and normally I wouldn't agree to go on a date so soon but this guy is hilarious. I have tears rolling down my face from laughing so much at some of his messages. Even if there isn't a spark between us I could see us being friends. Can't resist a guy with a sense of humour. We are going to a comedy show, looking forward to it
(oh and he's cute too)Knock me down I'll get right back up again, I'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man0 -
Cheers for the comments folks- Both for an against
I'm lucky/unlucky in respect that yes I am aware I'm a big guy and yes there is a stigm attached to that- There are also preconceptions that a big person is a un healthy person.
I'll mention just a few thing
I play Badminton once a week for around 1-2 hours.
I don't like rich food, I prefer to eat salad and simply grilled chicken or some fish. My problem there can be the ammount I eat I feel, I have to be carefull that I don't fall into the depressed so eat to feel better.
I have done the co-op Santa Dash last year.
I used to bike, wake board and do Ju-Jitsu.
And I wasn't much different to how I am now.
So all though I am a big guy, I am not a inactive couch patatoe- Yes I do like watching TV but I prefer being out when I can
I don't mind comments about my size- at the end of the day as I said before my size has a standard stigma with it. Both my mother and father are the same.
I do find that it does depress me that people jump to the conclusion, but I understand why. I don't hold grudges, I don't get upset and I certainly don't take it as a insult. Instead I just try to explain it to folk.
Unfortuantly, alot of girls look at there magazines that say you want this sort of guy. I know I'm not physically that sort of guy, and from my experiance guys who are sometimes are just shallow and dis-respectful to girls/women- No offense to any who have that physical look cause I am aware some of you are just decent honest folk.
Instead, for me, I just try to be as true to the person I am as I can be. I don't want to live my life being a sheep. A friend of mine who is sadly no longer with us once said that he would rather spend one day as a Tiger then live like a sheep for the rest of his life. He was right, why should I want to be like someone else? I am who I am- I have fol around me who respect me and like me for me, not cause of what I look like or what I have, but because I am just myself.
A few girls will know the Marylin Monroe saying very well, so I'm not going to type it, but thats the person I want. If you have to be something your not to impress someone then there not worth it.
It all just takes time and instead of worrying about how long you've been single or why haven't I met some one, we should just sit back and enjoy the moments and the people who you spend it with
I have to be honest Scott and say that I rejoined PoF having pulled my profile due to hassles from guys and I did click on your profile - and I was sort of WOW! big guy at such a young age, and i didn't even look at your profile if I'm honest. But then I am old enough to be your mother and you live 500 miles away from me, so I'm not entirely giving a valued opinion!
I put up a new profile perhaps a week ago, no photo, due to hassles from guys who recognised me from work but had no picture themselves, and I've chatted to a few people tonight. But I use the site purely as a distraction from writing essays, if someone emails me then fine, I don't get the having to be on the site all the time thing, and strangely a friend perhaps a month ago showed me whilst I was at work on his phone the fact that I was showing as being logged into to PoF - since then I've lost faith in the site, I'd been at work for perhaps 2 hours sitting on a check out and yet still I was showing as being on line....... so if someone emails me then I will reply, otherwise I have a life to lead and essays to write - it's a nice distraction but the other thing I am finding is that there are a hell of a lot more people who are unemployed now, and call me shallow but I don't want to chat to someone who sits and watches tv all day I'm afraid.0 -
