i'm a bit choosier i have to confess...it has to be a female, who isnt obsessed with reality tv or soaps, a similar age to me, who hasnt got any more than 4 cats, or 3 cats with names she'd hoped to use for children...oh, and is willing to agree an upper limit of 10 plays of any adele album in one week!

Too choosy? All I want is a man with a brain, a similar age to me (I'm popular with the over 60's this week) & who doesn't fall silent when I reply to his request to chat.

Obviously far too much to hope for :D

I tend to be popular with the over 60's too.:o

Haha yes, what is it with middle aged/old women with loads of cats. Nothing against cats myself you understand but when you have loads your house starts to stink a bit doesnt it?:D

If 'being yourself' is saying and doing what you've always said and done, you're always going to be what you've been. And this time next year you're going to be posting on here with the same gripes.
Don't be yourself, be the person you want to be.

What if the person you've always been is the person you want to be? ;)

I do find this thread to be an interesting read as an outsider. I think it also shows that compared with more traditional methods of meeting someone it becomes far more complex.

The list of requirements for one. If you met someone in real life, no profile used to sell themselves you'd probably not come across some of those dislikes until much later, which depending on that person may not turn out to be such an issue.

Online it must be very difficult not to become very pessimistic if you are doing it for any great period of time.

I do wonder if the many people I know that have been happily long term coupled up would have even got as far as chatting or a date based on profiles they'd write. I honestly think that there's a good chance they'd wouldn't have if they'd used that method.

Well in that case you're probably not wasting hours of your life on Internet Dating Sites, 'cos you'll already have what you want.

Sounds a bit harsh. A person could be quite happy with they person they are, but still want that special person to share experiences with.

Now if being the person they are is something that causes an issue with meeting someone romantically is entirely another question.

Not always. You could be pretty darned happy with the person you are but if you're single you might just want that special someone to make it all complete.

One can be happy with your life even if it is 'incomplete'.
