I've amended the photo to remove any doubt hehe

That will teach me to read to the end of the thread before clicking on your profile, I was looking for your ring, thinking wow everyone's must have really good eyes, I see no ring.
Anyway you look and seem fine to me, too young and too far away but there's nothing wrong with you, have more faith xx

Generally I do message women who seem to have a decent level of intelligence, avoid text speak and chavvy profiles.

I don't think it'd be appropriate to put a random woman's profile up without their consent.

Well if you messaged me i'd reply, but you haven't so your loss lol:p
hi i may be going to a pof night in glasgow any advice for anyone who has been before ? thanks john

I've never been to a pof meet, but from what i've heard it tends to be the more older generation that goes rather than 20/30 somethings. To anyone thinking of going i'd say read this thread from start to finish & then ask yourself if you really want to go to a meet up with all those shirtless, non replying, looking for a good time, potential stalkers. People get nervous about one date and you wanna go meet a 100 people at once
On the other hand i totally think you should go and come back and tell us all about it pleassseee lol

Wondering how zoesmummy is getting on tonight with her date tonight

I have to say, if someone contacted me on POF who had a profile exactly like yours, I'd feel like a lot of Christmas' had come at once..... :o

Well thank you for the comments, I genuinely did not expect to get so many positives, I honestly wasn't fishing for comments. I generally don't get chance to suggest a meet up to be honest, as I don't get replies.

If I've got ten guys in touch, all of who sound intelligent, look fine in their photos, then it comes down to meeting them and seeing how things work out. Guy A could be really nice sounding, and attractive, but if Guy B is also really nice sounding AND is texting me and meeting me on Friday night, then my attention is going to be on Guy B, and of course then he's going to there in person buying me a drink whilst Guy A is composing another e-mail and....you get the picture....

Also, you can then swap numbers - don't make a big thing of it, just "shall I drop you a text to arrange, here's my mobile?" and you don't just become "that Ok guy from the website" but someone who stands out a bit more. I think some guys are sleazebags, and no-one likes that , but I also think there's being a bit TOO cautious/careful - just asking "HOW WAS YOUR DAY?" politely is nice but not really what girls sign up for?

    • This could be why some guys are not getting any replies, because some women are actually keeping their options open and communicating with 10 guys at once
    • Guy B sounds too pushy and despite trying to come across as keener is actually probably looking to get laid, or just better at hiding his true intentions
    • I expect men don't much go for the hi how was your day message either

I'm not sure if you're online dating yourself, but could I make the very well-meaning suggestion that you don't use the same username you have here on the site?:rotfl:

I may go online under the name Clarabel...

I have read most of the thread, must have missed that bit! A more constructive conclusion to a night out with the POF group would have been more suitable ;) For example, do you live in this area in particular? Were you taking an example from an experience you had? No? Hearsay? Some people come here for real advice, if you ain't got any to give, then don't ;)
